i brought my car in on friday, due to a wobble under any acceleration. monday morning i was told that both my axles are broke and need to be replace at my cost. they are voiding my warrenty because of progress springs and energy suspension sway bar endlinks. my understanding is that the axles are under a power train warrenty. They said they are voiding the suspension warrenty. i dont understand how the can void something that isnt even under that catergory? someone please tell of your stories, so that i can prove that i am not the only one in this world that has a lowered srt-4. i think wheel hop might have been the reason for breaking my axles.
some techs don't know their stuff. I guess wheel hop never came across their minds??
I wouldn't let them void any warranty since nothing in the suspension is broken yet. there is no direct correlation between the broken axle and the springs . they can only void the suspension warranty if one of your shock blew due to the higher spring rate etc and not because of a drivetrain component.
the dealership is PALMER DODGE WEST, on west 38th st. indianapolis, IN. Bobby dont go there man you prolly get your whole car voided with that stage 2, lol.
Just put up some cash and buy the stage three axles. They are virtually unbreakable, so they say. They run about 800 for the pair. Good buy especially if you plan on going above the 400 hp range.

Ask yourself one question:
"When you turn your car on, does it return the favor?"
update......went to the dealer and was told now that suspension and powertrain where void, ask then why, and they said drive axles where off angle considerably which caused premature where on inner c.v.'s. i ask them to produce the angles that they measured and the said that they did not have to show those. my mom ask them for a way to contact Mr. Palmer to discuss this with him, we were told that he is in and out of the building and that there was no way to contact him, we would have to catch him in there one day. then my mom asks for the number to regional, we where again told that they where in and out and if we wanted to talk to him, it would be through him, the service manager. My mom is now pissed, and wanting a number for chrysler direct, which was finally given to us. She called them, told them what was going on and they called PALMER WEST, When the came back on they said that the car will NOT be covered because of drive shaft alignment due to a LOWERING KIT. whick okay we have heard that before. I decide that if i am going to pay $$ for axles i might as well buy the dss stage 3 one. so we pay the $75 dollar general look over fee, and i notice as i am getting the paperwork, the service writer goes into the service manager office, some words where said, they people insaide there began to laugh, and the service writer came back out and said " we are printing a new ticket, it will be a minute", then i see him take the origianl ticket and throw it away. i said nothing, i was just trying to get out of there. i look at my ticket and all it says is "vehicle had aftermarket lowering kit, a wobble under acceleration, may be axles". no where does it say that an alignment check of drive shaft has been done to prove that lowering the car has damaged the angle. now under the magnuson-moss act, in order to deny warrenty, they must prove beyond reasonable doubt that the aftermarket parts installed have cause a premature failure. but like i said before, no where have i been shown proof that my progree springs are the reason for the failure, just them assureing me that, that was the cause no questions asked. i do not know what to do now. i guess its time to sell this damn car and buy what i wanted in the first place, a supra tt 6 spd targa. so any comments or what ever one my problem would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance.
Dealers for the most part are cock suckers. Esp at Venice Dodge. They wont warrenty my shift linkage, because they claim the part isnt under warrenty. I flat out told the srv manager to go fuck himself sideways today.
Sorry to hear about the problem. If it helps, I do know a few people on the forums were selling there 04 axles for 125+ shipping for the set. Just another option for you. I know 800 is a little steep.
hey steve, just p.m. me about those axles, i am going to try another dealer tomorrow. and if thing fall through i will have no other chioce but to find some new axles. i just need to get this stuff done asap. i hate driving my old wrx. 6 psi of boost and a slipping clutch is not that fun. thanks for all the feed back guys and girls, keep it coming!
This is my suggestion to you , take it to a new dealer , see what they say, if the other dealer put a ticket on your dealerconnect stats window saying your car has a void power train warranty as well as your suspension being voided, my suggestion is to take the necessary steps:
1. Contact the BBB and tell them the situation you went through and whats going on , point them to magnuson-moss act.
BBB will make sure to contact someone in the Chrysler department that is up in the food chain to see your claim.
If they give you BS I am sure that the BBB will give you a cost effective lawyer and they will fight for you ( usually these lawyers don't charge you as they will file damages against Chrysler and he will get paid that way)
its a long process but it will be effective if your willing to wait.
THIS IS if your car has been indeed red flagged.

I had 17,000 miles on mine and rotated the tires and found the rear ones were cupped from the car being out of alignment. I took it to Kahlo in Knightstown and they ordered some new camber bolts and aligned the car and covered it under warranty. A few weeks later I took the car back because I thought the speakers were bad. They told me that the left rear and right front ones were blown, once again they covered it under the warranty and never asked any questions. Knightstown is not that far away from Indy, you might want to try them.
