As of today the engine is back to stock and it still has the problem. I'm going to rerun the test, but I have funny feeling the thing is still going to leak in the same place. I di replace the OEM clamp with another clamp.

DCX field tech told the dealer that the cars problem is surrounding the mopar BOV. Haa! I had to HAMMER it off. I used copper silicon on the gasket so it was on there really friggin tight. So, for me I know there was no leak there. If the pipes/hoses prove to be tight then the leak has got to be within on of the vaccuum lines for the WGA.

I don't know...I'm just soo fed up with the car that it's life with me is going to be very short.

Take note if your car for some strange reason loses boost and you've done all the tests and come up empty check the WGA. Mine was bad. I retested the boost leak and she was tight as a drum, so the only thing I can think of was the WGA. Lo and behold I had an S2 WGA sitting here, so I put it on.

Woo Hoo 4500rpms and the tires are begging for mercy. The boost shot up to 15 psi and stayed at 13psi for a while.

All I can say is this was the hardest thing to fix and the dealer was no help, cause they have no idea what they were doing.

Ah, just dug this up from the vaults

Real quick, for those waitng for the part numbers for the tester. Lowes suppliers, if they are national, that's good, if they are regional, go with the description. One reason I'm doing this is that drizze gave dimensions, but that can be confusing when you are hip deep in the mountains of PVC

These names are the anmes right on the items, along with maker and part number

2" to 2' Flexible Coupling. made by American Valve. RC50 part number

1 1/2" SCH 40 PVC cap. Made by Lasco. Part number D2466 I think, put my tire valve right in the center

Tire valves I bought at Wal-Mart. in the compressor stuff section (normally the last aisle in Auto.

Looks like this. If you want to add some way to face the valve back towards you, feel free, but do be aware that stuff poppoing off at 20psi can sting

Bill says this like he's just knowledgeable, but we all really know he did this to himself.

Seeya, yes, right where the intake tube attaches. Remove the tube from the turbo right there. It's possible to do this with out moving the battery, but it's a bit of a pain that way.

Yep, but keep in mind, your short ram does not normally see pressure, just the suction that the turbo puts out, so be careful, it would suck to see your short ram break something vital if it shoots loose. .

Question When to check??

At what point should I suspect there is a potential leak in my turbo plumbing??
I've noticed a "hissing" sound when I am WOT at 3rd, but I always thought it is the wastegate working. I don't wanna mess with the clamps and hoses when I don't need to. Please advise, as this whole turbo thing is all new to me.

it depends, look at your boost gauge when u get to higher rpms and see what your holding to redline.

I bought a 05 last month. car has only 1900 miles on the clock as of now. I think i already have a boost leak. My boost gauge won't even spike at 15psi anymore. It goes to around 14psi or so then drops to 11-12 psi under WOT in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. Is 11-12psi normal for a 05 or does this already sound like the infamous boost leak issue with these cars. Its very frustating to me now already. I have read over the article but I have no idea what all that stuff means. I'm a newb to FI so from my standpoint, its like reading a second language I know nothing about. Can someone please help sort of tell me where the iniital prone areas of the leaks generally come from. also, is this a bandaid fix or does zip tieing the hoses fix the problem for good?

2nd gear.....10 psi and thats it!
3rd gear...12 psi until around 4500 rpms then it goes to 14 psi dropping to 13 psi around 5500 rpms.
4th gear....12 psi.

^^Is that normal or does that seem like a boost leak?
