Default Backfire Problem :(

Hey guys, all of a sudden my car is starting to misfire only when at full boost, almost sounds like its backfiring through the intake. When idling or just putsing/cruising on the highway it runs 100%. I think that it may be a WGA problem. All vacuum lines are good, plugs are good and so are the wires. I have the AGP w/g (about 90000kms on it). The car has always had really bad Part throttle boost, and the misfire is the worst when in PTB, but still does it under full boost. Any help would be great, thanks guys.

Spark plugs or fuel cut.

Already tried changing the plugs and the wires, even switched out the coil to check that. All checked out good. Gap is at .045, so I will try .035, and they are Champion Iridiums.

wait you gapped irridiums? I just had a huge convo w/ the guy at pepboys on how important it is to NOT gap irridium plugs...ever. He said "you're never supposed to touch the gap of an irridium plug, or they wont work." Factory comes at around .042 and needs to stay there. Is this true? I want to bring mine down to .035 but now Im afraid to.

first mistake: Auto parts suppliers usually don't know crap! That guy is an idiot. if you up the boost you should gap them smaller, but i stay with in the specs of stage 2 requirements. I think its .032-.036 if you gap them smaller you will burn them out faster but if you are not stock boost levels then you will have to play around till you get them dialed in.

hahaha! was he trying to sell you a 10-ton hoist instead? theyre really good about listening to your needs, and trying to upsell the sh*t out of you. I bought a tube of gasket silicone for the block plate I put on the turbo. He said a small 0.5 oz tube wasnt enough, and that i needed a 1.5 oz for 3x the price. I laughed at him, and bought the small one and after generous use there is still 90% of the tube left. Jerk-off!
