Default axle broke and the dealer did this

Well I had the cv boot on the passeger side axle come off. Shortly after apparently the axle bearings went bye bye. I put the car in the shop and they tell me that the eibac sportlines were the cause. They said it caused the clip that seals the boot to hit the frame because of how low it is. Well they replace the axle and advise me over the phone before I pick it up that it could shred the boot as soon as I pull off the lot and hit a bump.

I get the call today that my car is ready. when I pay the cashier they tell me that someone will bring the car around. When the car pulls up I hear the same noise that I took the car in for. A loose axle banging under the car. I look and sure enough the axle is broke before I even drive the car. It is too late so the service manager is already gone and anyone who can authorize a refund are gone as well. the person who pulled the car around even said when he started the car and to moved the car was already clicking. Now I am going to demand they fix this again at no charge and assuming they work with me have them put the mopar springs on(which are less of a drop) for extra.

As far as the axle goes would they have any reason for not working with me

I take it you took it to Lustine Dodge? They are complete idiots there. DO NOT take your car there! I have had a lot of experience with them, and they are by far the worst dealership I have ever dealt with.

I have the sportlines also. So far I have had to replace pass. side axle. Going to buy the prokit and use the front springs from that kit.

I have bought three cars, including my SRT from them. They had sold me a certified used '03 Celica GTS from their Toyota section that they never really certified. Had it at the dealer 4 times in a month, b/c they kept screwing things up. I ended up trading it back to them for the SRT and swore never to take my SRT there for any work, ever! I know the entire staff and managers rather well, and they do not like me because of that whole mess.
A friend of mine used to work as a mechanic for Lustine and told me that many of them are not certified and that they get high on breaks. Find a new dealer.

oh heres what happened, when they first did the job they did not notice that the bottom motormount had a sheered bolt. the motor was setting low enough to hit the axle when it turned. when the mount is fixed there is enough room for the axle to clear with no prob. they still say the car is too low so if I hit a bump hard enough and bottom out the suspension it will knock the clip off the boot once again. they are going to replace the axle again but I have to pay for the new bolt in the mount.

I am thinking of going ahead and switching to the mopar performance springs. the car is too low for me anyway with the sportline and an everyday driver.

Ive been running the prokit for 2.5 years now, NO problems. I did have a bad axle about 4 months ago, but no coincidence with the springs. The broken motor mount was your problem, not the springs. Fix the mount, replace the axle, drive on. Dont go replacing shit because the dealer said thats your problem. Im sure eibach put more R&D into their suspension kits than some redneck mechanic in the service dept. at your local dealership has even thought about.

Since you paid for the axle, you now have a mopar warranty on it anyways. So that should help. I was going to say that it sounded like you may have a motor mount broken. That is usually the only time I've EVERY had a car leave the shop with a new axle and break right away again. If you chose to get the mopar springs, let me know. I think they're $220 right now.

they are going to work with me. I should be able to pick it up today. the problem was not the suspension, The second time around the tech noticed that the bottom motor mount had a bolt sheered off of it. When thus moving the engine way down. In conjuction with the springs bringing the axle up some it made it a bad problem to go over bumps.

Sounds like qualified techs working on your stuff if they missed a sheared lower motor
mount bolt and simply suggested your problem was your drop. Wow.
