Default Air Dam Blade

I was pulling out of a drive way and half of the blade off the bottom of my car came off! But was is wierd is the blade is held on by bolts. The two bolts on the left side are gone. So basically I had to cut the blade in half to drive home or I would have been driving it. I'm guessing this protects rocks and such from hitting the bottom of the car. Anyone else seen this or has had to deal with it?

It's supposed to both protect the engine bay from rocks, etc., and also to make sure that the proper air pressure is being forced into the engine bay for cooling, if you listen to some of those who posted about it. I couldnt stand the damn thing always hitting my driveway, so off it came on day 2.

mine actually came loose and hung halfway... jacked it up and put some newer bolts to replace the missing ones

I was backing out of a driveway with a curb and I heard a loud scrape. I got out and looked below and the left side of it was hanging. I really don't understand because the holes on the blade were still there, so bolts either came off or something. I guess I'll go to the dealer and tell them to give me one for free, heh.

I've had to tighten several of the bolts that it normally attaches to a couple of times (mine heas never been on). Last time, I put a drop of silicone on each bolt, and they haven't loosened since.

After you get it back on try taking all of your front end "dips" at angles (sort of like when you go "4wheelin" and have to cross a ditch) and that will help prevent scraping the "blade". My driveway has a nice drop at the end so Ive been doin that angle thing for a long time. I hear the blade really is functional by providing some sort of negative cooling & rock blockin dealio. I wonder if they come in colors? Red would go good with those calipers...I wonder if I cut them on a router from some colored lexan if that would do the same thing as stock and ad a color accent.... (maybe with some light behind it?) sorry just went on a tangent..........

Is air blade the technical name for it? Does Boomba make a replacement?
