Acceleration issue!

OK i get really good acceleration up to third gear but when i get into 4 and 5 the car moves but it feels bumpy or should i say hesitates now i have changed out my spark plugs twice the first time my plugs where gaped to .35 then went back and gaped them to .40 just to see if it would change things but no it did not. Then I put a brand new pair in and di not gap them at all and still same issue. Can someone direct me to the right location of this problem. My boost and everything else on the car is ok i had a dyno test at the dealer ship they siad everything is perfect they found that mt air filter was cloged up i changed it out for a new one and still same issues someone please help me out.

It's the plug gap. Close it down untill you get rid of the spark plug blow out. Denso Iridiums worked best for me but the NGK's will work well but the gap may need to be as small as .028-.030 Also try and go back to stock coil pack and see if that helps. There have been alot of complants about the aftermarket ones for some reason.

thks for the fast response on this its strange that I have had the msd coil pack for about almost half a year now with out any issues ill try all of this . My boost gage is fine it goes up 21psi and holds to redline sense i have stage three but i never had problmes for like this i have had stage three for a year now and the delaership says everything is fine when they ran test but i will do this tonight and will see tommorrow the results. I jsut cant not understand why i would need to gap further than .35 the last plugs i had where gaped to that and never any problems. Im almost thinking maybe its a manufature defect in the plugs them self.

from what you said in the other thread it sounds like your clutch is sliping in the higher gears.

well i dont know how the clutch would be slipping when its only got over 1000miles on it and its a clutchmaster stage 3 clutch. And the other thing this all started right after i did a new spark plug install so i do not believe my clutch is the case its something to do with the coil pack, plugs and plug wires, like i said the dealership looked at everything drove it a few times and nothing came up for them also to everyone else this only happens after the car is warmed up when the car is cold the car runs just the way it should run. Also i would know if the clutch was slipping each gear goes in no problems and never misses a gear. there are no noises from the clutch nore does it freeze up or anything like that. but thxs for thinking about that as an issue.

Just shooting ideas here, so does the boost gauge flutter? Is it surging rapidly on/off feel? The WGA spring could be weak thus causing waste gate to open & then close at high boost at low rpms. Check your blow off valve if you have one also.

Default Update!

thxs for the idea, BOV is fine and boost is ok I have stage3 in my car if you did not see my mods list in my signature. I tried the coil and sure enough it was the coil pack i put the stock one back on and the the bumpy feeling and acceleration problems went away. When i took the MSD off the connection locations for the wires was all black colored like carbination build up thks for the help. The only thing now that sucks sense it raining out here I cant open her up to really see how shes running you know how cold wheater plays on our cars.
