The 3k hold feature lol

Hey as everyone is familiar with the 3k hold problem on the srt4. Well ive been having this problem for a few days. It started before i installed my SAFC2 so i know its no that. With the car running i can wiggle the TPS harness and there is no change in the rpms or anything. But one day when it was idleing normal i unplugged the TPS and pulled the car up and it did the 3k hold again. So just a few mins ago i did a cold startup and with everything plugged up the car shot straight to 2k and didnt budge at all so i thought what would happen if i unplugged the IACV did that and voila the rpms dropped straight to 850-900 and stayed study. will it do this regaurdless or have i found my problem?? thnks. I also have a RFL bov and removed all vac soleniods to eliminate pcm controlled boost so can someone please help thanks

Its probably the sensor or the motor itself if the IAC was discon'd and it went back to normal that sounds like the culprit

If you disconnect the IAC and the car doesn't die immediately then you have a vacuum leak around the intake manifold. When you disconnect the IAC the car shouldn't be able to get any air into the manifold and it should die. If it stays on then it's still pulling air from someplace. check the vacuum lines off the intake manifold. Theres one on top and I think two on the bottom. The brake booster line is known to come off pretty often. If none of your vacuum lines are leaking check the intake manifold gasket and throttle body gasket.

This is not a TPS issue if he can wiggle the TPS and it doesn't change the idle. He said he pulled out the IAC connector which should starve the engine of air and cause it to stall. If he doesn't stall then there's a vacuum leak where air is still getting pulled into the manifold and then into the motor to keep it running. The TPS harness has nothing to do with it.
