" This is NOT common, but does happen. There two things that usually do this, 1) plugged exhaust, usually the cat. 2) The ignition timing is way too retarded. "extra fuel burned in manifold" 3) sometimes a very lean air/fuel mixture. You don't want to drive it this way for long. Do you have a OBD2 scan tool to check for any codes ? Wideban to monitor air/fuel ratio ? Do you get this pop under a load ? " acclereration " crushed exhaust ? that's the best I can come up with... Good luck...

I've had the same "pop" thing happen 2 me i think...

If i'm going down the road and baby it thru 1st, put it in second ease on it til about 2500-3000 rpm then stomp on it, sometimes it will sound like a machine gun firing 2 or 3 rounds then HOLD THE FUCK ON! it takes off like a scaulded dog.

I have an 04 with aem cai, 3" catless dp, msd ignition and an agp actuator set at 17 psi. other mods just didn't see them important to this topic.

My manifold gets cherry red too but only if i'm dogging the piss out of my car.
