Would you buy it? A new Electronic Boost Controller...
Would you buy it if we made it? That is the question.
It would be a new electronic boost controller with a few unique features.
Gear specific boost settings - Allows you to set individual boost settings for each gear! All without having to add gear switches or tons of wiring. Just one wire to the OBD bus...
Simple, wiring only installation - No new hardware needs to be installed. The EBC would use your stock vacuum setup and WGA solenoid. In total, there would be only 5 connections to make: Power, Ground, WGA Solenoid, MAP and OBD.
Simple, Windows software based programming - Just hook up your laptop, adjust your boost values in the graphical software and go!
Memory storage for 2 or more boost tunes - Allows you to setup a boost vs. gear map for the street and another one for the strip and switch between them at the touch of a button.
It would look exactly like our WOT Box:
Sounds good? The only downside is that there wouldn't be a way to set the boost settings directly on the unit. You would probably have to use the Windows software. I think it would be just too complicated to try and set them with a blinking light pattern...
Preliminary Price Estimate (subject to change): $299
The interesting thing would be that since the hardware is the same, we could let you guys switch between the two functions by just loading new software. So, if you have the WOT Box, you could wire up another wiring harness for the EBC and then load the EBC software on the WOT Box and try it out.
If you like it, get another WOT Box/ EBC. If not, reload the WOT Box software...
