I should have pics up by the end of this weekend. I just need to finish modifying my stock holder for it. Should look factory when done.

How'd you do that? Looks nice.

We're looking into making up a custom piece of plastic to eliminate the box and fit in that space just like you've got it....

Put mine here mainly because of ease of install. It took John all of 25 minutes to hook up the whole thing. Did not have to take anything apart on the inside oe make any new holes. He used a hanger to get the wiring into the engine bay. I can see all the lights fine and does not get in the way at all. Stealth mode and stuff.

I just trimmed the pocket to fit the box in there so that it was centered and flush with the defroster switch and power outlet. Then I used some plastic repair material to fill the open space on both sides of the box. Sanded and shape as needed, and then spread some plastic cosmetic filler over to finish it off. Then sanded some more to my likings. Then I primed the part, sanded primer, then painted. I could make a how-to, but it not really that hard to do. I make stuff like this all the time. It was kind of a pain working around the switches though. But I managed.
I was going to modify the HVAC Radio surround panel instead by adding material to it that would surround the toybox in the same position. Then paint that whole HVAC surround Silver again so that it would look factory. I couldn't find another surround cheap enough though, so I went the other route. If anyone can hook me up with a HVAC Surround for cheap, maybe I will make one up and see how it looks. Would probably accent the switches more.
Anyways, I am happy with it. No I just got to hook it up. Ha Ha

Brian

P.S. I just thought of another route that you guys could try. Just get some abs plastic sheet and trace it to roughly the shape of that area that I installed mine. And cut the rectangular hole for the defroster switch and a circular hole for the cig lighter. Once that fit nicely around those items and positioned correctly, mark and cut your holes for the switches and either put the switched in this plastic sheet and have the box inclose the microboard or maybe cut a nice rectangle out of the abs plastic piece that surrounds the switches. It would kind of make it look inset.
Anyways, I don't know if you got any of that cause I sure didn't. Ha Ha Any questions feel free to ask.
Also I would like to see where others have mounted theres, etc.
Later,

Brian

shiiiiet. With all thats going on in the shop right now and us moving in soon to a BIGGER place, I wouldn't expect a revised version anytime soon unless Phrozen is working on one.

The older version is alot better anyway. You can easily place it anywhere you want!

Default another idea

Here's another idea on install.

The only downside is that the HOM button is facing away so that when it's daytime you can't tell if it's on or not. At night it's fine.

But you WILL need a few extra feet of wire if you're going to route it properly.

hmm.... You didn't have enough wire? We can start including more wire. I assumed there would be enough to put the toybox anywhere within reach of the driver...

Good idea, though. We can also start assembling the Toyboxes so that the wire exits the other side, if people find that more convienient.
