well i WOT shift without the box now...so you want me to shift while lifting off the gas? and check the difference?
Yes. We'd like to see the difference between WOT shifting and normal shifting. Our box won't make much difference in ET if you're already WOT shifting. It will just make your WOT shift easier, faster and safer.
The big difference should be between WOT shifting and normal shifting.
Quick Q. Didn't read through the whole post to see if someone asked. My bro and I want one of these. I have the SRT4 (no prob there) He has a '98 Camaro SS. Abviously this will help his car but do you know if he has the clutch switch and how hard it would be to wire his up? Thanks
Phil

We haven't tested on the Camaro yet.
Q1. Does he have cruise control? Most cars that have cruise control will have the clutch switch that we need.
Q2. Does the car have a TPS sensor?
Q3. Is the positive lead to the ignition coil accessible?
I think if you can answer those 3 questions, then the WOT Box should work. The installation shouldn't be any more difficult than any other car.

A1. Yes
A2. Yes
A3. ??? Don't know
Ok. Sounds like it should work. Here are our installation instructions for the SRT. If you guys can email me the wiring diagrams for your car, I can try to look over them and give you ideas where to hook up to. Or you can just go out and try to install it yourself. It shouldn't be too hard to modify our SRT directions to other cars.
Come to think of it. The camaro has a coil pack for every plug.
Ok. Do they all share a common positive power source? Odds are they do. The PCMs usually drive the negative side because it is easier. That's why we switch the positive side. We can shut off all of the coils with only 1 switch...
phrozen, do you show a payment from me for one of those 25 orders? would have come from a paypal address: scottw03@hotmail.com
Can I have my box held off until after the basic software with triggers and windows interface is completed? Or will the box be able to still function with what you will be sending us? I will be able to turn it off and on with the switch so i won't need a computer to do anything? Just want to know if it will be useful even with out the other features. Please let me know or I am willing to wait to get it fully working.
im pretty sure it will function or they wouldnt ship it to you...the windows software is for you to track and log your shift times so you can adjust the box perfectly..i believe you can still adjust the box without the software by holding or pushing the button multiple times..im sure phrozen will chime in!

Yes, you've got it right. All of the basic functionality will be there. Turning the box on and off and setting the kill time. You should be able to install it and be running in no time.
The advanced stuff with the user interface will be developed later. But, there's no need to worry since you'll be able to easily upgrade the firmware yourself. We'll post the files on our website. It will be a simple procedure. Just plug in the provided serial cable to your laptop (or desktop if you have one nearby), start the car and with a few clicks it will install the latest software.
The main idea is to start shipping with the basic set of software so that people can start using the WOT Box right away. You can also help give us feedback on what features you'd use in the windows software or how to make the box work better.
The basic software has been out there running for almost 2 months now and it's been working great on our test cars. So we think that software will be sufficient for nearly everyone. There are still some minor things we want to work out with some advanced setups, like 2-step launchers, and other cars, but all of that will be included in future releases.
But anyway, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want to put this on your car right now and start using it.

Awesome, thank you both for the response and answer. Cool I didn't realize what the other stuff was for. The only concern I have is that I will be running a 2 step on my car. Any idea if this basic package out the door to us soon will conflict with it. should I install it and only use it if the TCS and 2 step are turned off for the run (use a laptop to turn it off or the key trick)?
