i have a question and if you guys have answered it sorry... i have a agp wastgate if i get the boost box would it be easier to tune it with the stock wastegate?

AGP wastegate should be fine, you just might need to adjust the preload down so that you can make lower boost. The initial preload that you set via the nut on the arm determines what the minimum boost you can make is.
So is there any final word on how this does on external waste gated cars? I think this would be a great thing to have on my car to help with traction.
Works on external wastegate cars. We've had a few guys get it dialed in just right on the external gate cars. No real difference than internal gate. We're still working on improving the tuning guide and the software to make it easier to tune, but other than that, you'll be all set.
100% confirmed that it works on a external gate...i have no REAL issues boosting 9psi in 1st and ending at 20 in 4th...its a great product, just takes some getting used to...
just dont expect to plug it in and bam its perfect, it takes tweaking thats for sure, but the support is great...
i ended up turning off the learning and auto everything and made it 100% adjustable by me and i dialed in every boost duty cycle...no complaints once i got that squared away...
I spent the weekend working on some different boost control ideas. It will require a change in the vacuum lines and the wiring, but I think the results will be dramatically different. If everything works, it will require no tuning and no calibration table. If there is any tuning, it will be only one "knob" that adjusts the speed of the response. It will be a simple setting that adjusts the "aggressiveness" of the control.
Ok, forget everything you know about the boost box. Take a look at this. This is a log from the very first run of the new software. No tuning, no learning. There aren't any adjustments that can be made or need to be made. Just really solid boost with the fastest spool possible and no overshoot....
Pretty cool. I'm really excited about it.
b.t.w. The spool might look slow, but that is probably just because of the time scale of the graph. I don't have it on this picture, but the solenoid is pegged on at 100% duty until right before the boost reaches the target. That makes sure it is spooling as fast as it can.
I should have more soon. I'll be posting up some beta software shortly. I have some more things to add to it.
Quick curiosity. Will this system work on cars with an EMS? Or will it require the use of a factory PCM?
I have enjoyed the ability to do boost by speed with the AEM EMS, but I think boost by gear is a much better way of doing it! Or maybe a combination of both?
