Yes, winker has it working on his external gate setup. He is going to do more testing on it before posting a full review. So far, so good. The only thing that is a bit confusing is that we didn't end up using the vacuum routing we expected to be able to use on the external gate. I don't know why yet. But, an alternate vacuum routing appears to have worked.

ill make sure to give a full review as well, possibly a how to if i remember to take pics lol
Ok people.... the boost box is officially up and running on my dbb 50trim setup w/ external gate. Sorry for taking so long, but I did as much as I could with the time/weather speed bumps in my way. I still have some tweaking to do to get more info on how it will be set up for other external gate users, but I'm hitting target boost in every gear now. No creep, and no crazy spikes (car has seen it's fair share of 32psi in the last few days).
After I'm done finalizing everything with Jon and Jay, I will write a full review including video, and at the end of the month will have track times on street tires. I don't feel a how to for installation is necessary as the one jay posted was more than enough for even a monkey to do this, but i will certainly write up a how to on setting it up if jon or jay ask me to (they might want to include it in there instructions that will eventually come with the boost boxes). As for the vacuum routing for external gates, that (as of right now) will be changed from the original diagram posted in the other thread.
It's supposed to be crappy out tomorrow, so this weekend I'll have more time to do some final tweaking.
Just want to thank Jon and Jay for the great support that I never doubted to see from the N2MB guys. I've been saying this since the original wot box dropped... These guys know what our cars need. And they make it happen.
Also want to thank my car for taking all the abuse I put on it while hot lapping it for hours on my "test course", during the tuning process.

How do you run the vacuum lines for an external gate? Will that be in the instructions?
Top port going to pressure source (turbo)
Middle port going to bottom port on wastegate
Bottom port venting to air
Top port of wastegate open.
It's like your typical mbc routing.
This is exactly how SCT users found was the best way to route the lines, as using the top port of the wga proved to make the DC of the selenoid be rediculously off. Running it like a standard MBC meant the DC's could be more normalized, but still lower than normal.
has anyone installed the boost box on a syanpse wastegate?
Not that I know of. I checked their site and they didn't have a description of the recommended vacuum hose routing. I can't tell which port to use. Do you have a vacuum hose diagram for that wastegate and an MBC or EBC?
It looks like it might hook up the same as an internal gate setup, with pressure going to one of the ports through the solenoid.

I'm not sure if it matters but depending how you hook up the vacuum ports on the Synapse, it'll act as a boost controller.

Yeah, I think it just provides different amounts of preload. Similar to how if you just hook up pressure to an internal gate, you get spring pressure.
My guess would be that you would plumb it the same as the internal gate setup, but choose the port on the wastegate that corresponds to the minimum boost you want to make. The boost controller will be able to make that boost as 0% duty cycle and increase from there as you want.
it has 4 ports on it, and depending on which 2 you hook up or which one, you boost a different amount, right now i have it on the lowest setting and im boosting 9psi.
the way this one works is the bottom 2 ports act as the bottom port of a conventional wastegate, so they would have to be Teed. same goes for the top 2. guess i have some R&D of my own to do when my boost box gets here
looks like use the C+D ports to get minimum boost.
hook it up the same as the stock vacuum hose routing, except T the normal wastegate output to two hoses and hook up C+D. I believe you will want to leave A&B open.
