would you be able to get 22 psi out of a stock wastegate, and do you recommend a stocker over an aftermarket one, what kind of preload do you recommend, i know the less preload the longer it takes to make boost
It will be the same as using other boost controllers. I don't know what the stock WGA can do off the top of my head, but other people should know. I believe it starts to open up at high RPM at around 16 psi? Maybe slightly higher depending on your preload.
I don't think the preload really effects the spool rate that much. I think that is up to the boost controller somewhat. It can give more duty cycle initially to spool the turbo faster. Some of that is done now with the controller, but we are looking to improve that. We have some ideas up our sleeve to make it spool faster. It is pretty damn fast right now, though....
what about a 'valet' mode on the boost box.... limits max boost to 0psi or something when you activate it, so some fuqtard in a bad jacket can't do burnouts in your car. you had something like that for the toybox...
That is possible. One thing you can do right now is just unplug the Boost Box from the harness. If it is unplugged, you get minimum boost.
We could also put it in software so that you don't have to unplug and replug the box. I could make that MAP #3.... No boost!
well, you guys are right...i was testing on the freeway on the way to work this morning, and my scangauge reads up to 18.6 and stops as my regular boost gauge goes to 25+...
Ill lower my max down to 18.6 and go from there. Also, how does the learning work? How can I try and prevent the boost from going(spiking past the max)too high and being cut? Id like to boost 18, but 18.6 is so close that i fear ill hit that all the time and have boost cut down when I dont want it too lol.

Yeah, 18 is probably going to be too close to the top limit of the sensor. We can try to modify the code to tolerate a small amount of time above the limit. That might keep it from shutting down if you just spike over 18 for a really short time.
But, the ideal situation is to upgrade to a 3 bar sensor. Then you will have a lot more freedom to adjust things.
It could be an external sensor as well. It doesn't have to be the Mopar 3bar. You could just plumb in a GM 3 bar sensor and wire it up to the Boost Box only.... Then leave the stock 2.25 bar going to the PCM.
Not as ideal, but it would let you reliably boost 18, 19, psi while still keeping the overboost feature, say at 21 or 22 psi....
That depends on if they have source code or just the ability to change tables. If they only have the ability to change tables, then they won't ever be able to add new features to the computer. They can only tune existing features of the computer. Adding new features requires source code from Dodge. I suspect they don't have it and probably never will...
It can be and has been done...SCT PRP and CMR users have access to duty cycle, adaptives, and commanded torque, all that is really necesarry to make it work.
Now me personally I havent tried it, nor am I really going to try, as I have heard horror stories, lol.

Interesting.... Is it specific per gear? Or is it one commanded boost / torque value for all gears?
1st dyno 09/26/09 - 361HP/414TQ
2005 Flame Red SRT-4
50 trim with SCT Tune (in progress)
to be dyno'ed by the end of this year.
Mopar stage 1 springs
Some custom pain here and there.
much better results now that i lowered my max boost setting!
Ok, great! When you are happy with your settings, post them up along with what turbo and waste gate you have. I will keep a sort of average set of settings for each setup as an initial starting point.
I wasnt getting as much boost as i wanted in 2-5, so I upped the boost, but have not tested it yet. With the above settings(in the pic) and my 2 step at 3200, i managed consistent 0-60's 5.09-5.35(and I mean time after time, not like every four times when I was on pcm controlled boost). And i only did the 1/4 mile twice, 13.3@106 and 13.5@106 according to my scangauge. I would say this is pretty accurate, as I can FLOOR the pedal in first(no 50% or some bulshit like that, i mean petal to the floor!!!! Both from a stop and at a roll, no more tire spin!!!!!!!!) and not get tire spin, as tire spin is what throws the scangauge off/makes it inaccurate.
Ive got:
falken azenis 235/40/17
hotchkis springs
motor mount inserts(gonna get solid mm soon tho)
3" catless dp
borla catback
godspeed bfmic
cai
fm wga(set at NO PRELOAD)
and of course the best mod(s) of all...2step/wot/boost box
I expected a slightly faster times(like lower 13's, cause 13.3 is okay, but 13.5 is so-so, but thats with 3-5 gear on 16, so 17 psi should be a little better...ill maybe try for 18psi if i can keep it from hitting the max boost setting and getting cut to like 8psi) but my launches are consistent, things are only gonna get better
WAY TO GO N2MB!!!!!!!!!!!
