i have overboost set a 19.2(the software said this is the max with a 2 bar map sensor), and im using the stock solinoid
it seems that all my gears are boosting higher than they should, except for 2nd.
1st-set at 3psi, but goes to 10psi
2nd-set to 15 goes to 15
3rd, 4th and 5th-set to 18 goes to 19(usually it gets cut to like 8 psi once it goes over 19, but a few times it went to 25)
I understand why 3-5 might get cut down cause its easy for the turbo to boost 1psi more than I have it set at, but a few times it gets to 20+
also, what code is given when you dont use a resistor on the wires going to the pcm? I have a pack of the correct resistors, but their burried somewhere in the garage cause we just moved.
morgan i think the probelm is just too much preload on the gate. do you still have a stock wga? its really hard to control pwm on a gate with a stronger spring
btw guys i spent all day working on one with a big turbo and pretty much got it working great so ill have the initial guys who are testing it set it up like i did and post up the results

Would you say the Boost Box would work better with a stock or stage 2 wga? I plan to eventually up the boost to 21psi or so after I get some 3 bar sensors and a rescale, but for now I will just max out the stock sensors.
ya, ive got the stock one in my tool box. Is the boost still gonna hold at redline as well as the fm wga? If so, Ill switch it out...hell I might do that anyway just to test it cause it only take like 5 mins.
Ill try adjusting the wga down more. When I installed everything, i took the arm of the wga off and adjusted it so there is very little preload. But there is a little, so ill turn it down and see what happens!
oh, just-a-neon, buy the boost box cause its the best boost controller out there. I just need to get it dialed in. I didnt reset my pcm until today, so im sure that is contributing to my troubles.

I think you need to turn down the overboost from 19.2. I have a feeling the sensor isn't getting all the way to the top and is sticking at the max, somewhere below that. So even though you make more than 19.2 psi, the sensor may never read it.
So, reset your overboost to 19 psi or less, I would say. I will lower the max in the next version of the software.
would you be able to get 22 psi out of a stock wastegate, and do you recommend a stocker over an aftermarket one, what kind of preload do you recommend, i know the less preload the longer it takes to make boost
what about a 'valet' mode on the boost box.... limits max boost to 0psi or something when you activate it, so some fuqtard in a bad jacket can't do burnouts in your car. you had something like that for the toybox...
