The DAB setting remains set. It is only determined by the current position of the switches.
Interestingly enough, if you leave the HOM switch on all the time, then when you start the car it will start in HOM.
The toybox doesn't trick the PCM into anything. It works the same as the Mopar toys bezel. It will work exactly as if you had the Mopar toys bezel, but never turned on the IC sprayers.
Thanks for the quick answers! But there's still one that you didn't answer for me:

I know your originial post says that there are 6 wires, and 3 have pins for the pcm. How do the other 3 connect, and where? If an amateur can handle this install, then put me on the list for one of these please. What an awesome way to save a few hundred bucks.

Oh, forgot about that one. Yeah, the install is the same or easier than the mopar toys install. You will have to strip and solder 3 wires in the same way as the Mopar toys install.
Do you have the toys installation instructions handy? If you look at the section for connecting the toys to the PCM it is basically the same.
Yes it works on a no toys car!! I installed it today on my s3r and took it for a test drive. I have 91 pump in my tank. With 50/50 water meth injection on dab 2 I was able to hold hom in 1st,2nd and the begining of 3rd gear! I got kicked out of hom at about 3500-4000 rpm's. I tried all the dab modes and everything works fine. My car was a STAGE 3 without toys, so this does work on the no toys cars! The toybox itself looks really good too! Its smaller than I thought it would be.
