That's correct. It is like a manual boost controller.

The wiring is covered here:
N2MB Electronic boost controller installation guide

One side of the solenoid goes to ground, the other side goes to the black wire of the WOT Box pair.

just to clarify for people to see in one post:

when using a mac solenoid run ur wastegate lines as if running an internally gated setup (see aem diagram http://www.aempower.com/images/produ...%2030-2400.pdf).

to wire the mac solenoid, connect one wire to ground, and the other to black wire of the boost box. follow the rest of the directions as usual.

easy peasy? is it recommended to use the stock solenoid?

if you arent sure which port is which blow through them. the one that you cant blow through will be the nc port

So for the MAC/AEM solenoid:

Port 1 = NC
Port 2 = common
Port 3 = NO

Is that correct?

Thanks!

AEM says:

port 1= atmosphere
port 2= WG
port 3= Turbo Pressure

You can use the stock solenoid if you have it, or use the AEM one if you have it.

We're putting together a kit now, but it turns out that it will be fairly expensive. The cheap MAC part that is ~ $20, is not really the right one to use for this application. There are several upgrades that they recommend to the valve for this application that pushes up the cost. The upgrades are about making the valve weatherproof and handle high temps. Then add in good vacuum hose, quality fittings and the price does go up some.

So, I'd recommend using the stock solenoid if you have it. We will also have our kit ready soon.

The kit your talking about is for using an aftermarket solenoid right?

is this solenoid that your talking about only for internal wastegates? Are there extra parts needed if i am running a external?

No, you can use your stock solenoid for internal or external gate setups. We are only putting together the kit for people who either don't have their stock solenoids anymore or don't want to use them.

There may be a performance benefit to using the aftermarket solenoids instead of the stock solenoids, but it might only be at very high boost levels. The stock solenoid seems to work fairly well, from what I can tell.

I doubt it. The stock solenoid seems to be pretty good. I don't know what maximum pressure it is rated to, but we may have to blow one up to find out...

I know winker is using the stock solenoid on a big turbo without problems, so it should be fine. I believe some of the EMS guys are using it as well.

super easy install. if youre running a WOT box, only two wires need to be fed into the engine bay; MAP and WG line.

TPS can tee into ur WOT box, and the rest stay under the dash.

the map line is super clean and easy if you tee into it here (red box)

just cut a small slit in the loom, feed the green line up, and tee into the green/red wire, retape and then ur good to go!

does a previously installed code scrubber impact install in anyway? specifically the purple and yellow to yellow wire connection.
