We have no effect on the engine portion of the OBD test. That is strictly left alone. Mopar decides what to pass there. We only eliminate the transmission portion of the OBD tests.
However, it is generally known that the mopar stage kits do not use the 2nd o2 sensor to monitor the catalytic converter.
I installed mine in the air conditioning vent to the left of the steering wheel. It's easy to pop the louvers out and push the button. It's also easy to work with the wires in the fuse box area to the left during the install.
I like having it hidden. Nobody needs to see the little magic box.
This is a great product for sure. I don't know how I missed this thread all this time until I did a search after my Stage 2 w/toys failed emissions because of those 3 autostick codes! I took it to a garage where the folks know me and are very nice. They erased the codes the second time around and it passed but they had to fill out forms to cover their asses. The state would come by and ask how my car failed and then passed only a mile later on the speedo! I'm getting the scrubber to prevent that again! Thanks guys!
I finally got time to get my car inspected the other day..I was alittle nervous even though I had the simulator but my luck is hell sometimes....But anyway the car passed with no problems at all..Now I have a tremendous burden removed from my shoulders...
Thanks again dudes
I popped off the A/C vent, pushed the button, A/C vent back on, tested, passed, Popped A/C vent off, turned it off, A/C vent back on, then more Stage 3 fun.
I have the s3 and no codes doing the on off on off thing. Can I pass with just the regular trans box and not the premium version? If any other codes did come up can they be wiped out by disconnecting thr battery to pass emissions in NC? they don't use a sniffer here.just the obdII & visual
The automatic transmission failure codes will not show up using the on-off-on-off-on key trick. They will only show up on an OBD scan tool.
Both the regular and premium versions will take care of these automatic transmission failure codes. The premium version adds an aditional feature that allows you to clear other codes that might come up without a scan tool or pulling the battery.
