Hey, guys. I got mine yesterday. I'm going to put it in tom. or Thurs. Then it's off to the insp. station Fri. BTW, do I still need to drive the car around some before I get the insp.? I've been doing other projects, so the bat. has been disconnected for a while. Thanks again.
Is the light supposed to stay on all the time? I know that LED's don't take up much power, but is it possible to drain a battery that way? I have the small motorcycle battery for the JMB ultimate intake, and it can drain quickly. Maybe I should just turn it on when I need it?

it wont drain any more than an alarm would, you could leave it off if its a concern with your battery though.the only thing to keep in mind is a scantool wont communicate unless its on

Not exactly. You can push the button to turn it off and a scan tool will still function correctly. You will just see the automatic transmission error codes again because they will pass through.
However, pushing the button doesnt exactly turn off the unit, it just disables it and turns off the LED. This reduces the current by a good amount, but it still draws some current.
Either way, you can calculate how long it will take to drain your battery. Assuming the smallest battery you could possibly use is about 10 Ah and our current consumption is about 20ma while enabled and 10ma while disabled, the battery would last about 500 hours while enabled and 1000 hours while disabled.
So basically, probably not something you need to worry about.
If it is really a problem for you, you can remove the unit and install a shorter plug to allow you to continue to use the OBD port. But, I doubt that will be a problem for anyone.
I'm going to leave it fully active and see what happens. I just installed a new battery the same day as the code scrubber, so it should be good. Thanks for the help. I'm almost excited to get emissions tested, but have to wait till november LOL.
Question for you,,,, I am doing a project for my PT where the tranny plug (Autostick)will not be plugged into the PCM,,, will this work to prevent codes? It sounds like it should.
it may,it may not.
it may also set trans temp among other trans codes.i dont know if jon filtered out all the other trans codes.
actually im certain it wont because of your vin #.if you need a special version we can maybe do something for you.contact phrozen or myself via pm and we can discuss what you need
Phrozen, I have installed the unit.... It workks !!! I'll take it to be inspected later this week. Total time took about 20 min. ( took my time and re checked everything) I also added about 18 inches of leader wire so I have the unit mounted in the fuse panel by the drivers door. Taped and tied all the wires so you can't even tell it even there
