You mean I get a better product, and money back?!?!?
That's right.
We took the extra time to market to reduce costs and improve the product. We could have shipped any of the first 3 revisions. They all worked great. Instead, we worked harder to reduce costs by changing the way the product works, at the expense of more time and R&D.
In the end, we hope to get more sales from this because the lower price just makes any other option seem ridiculous. Especially for the S2 guys. Why spend time swapping PCMs and injectors? Just spend a few $$ and wire our box in.
So, thanks for your patience. Especially for those guys who ordered way back when. Your units will ship first.
Also, everyone who has paid already, send me your preference for the option so I can figure out what your balance or refund.
I was one of the first ones.
How far are we on this?
I have not been pulled over yet but, But with my luck.....
I have a big R for rejection from my state.
Great work phrozen! Put me down for one w/ code scrubber. My tags are up at the end of Mar. so it's going to be tight for me. Of course I could always not drive it for a while. Yeah right! Where again do I send the $?
I will post new paypal links this weekend. I'm also going to start going through the prepaid list and figure out what people owe or are owed. Everyone will get a PM.
However, I need people who have paid to tell me which version of the code scrubber they would like. There are two options.
$135 shipped is the base unit, which is fully functional for eliminating the transmission error codes.
The upgraded unit for $160 shipped adds code clearing and CEL resetting. That is, if you have a code set you can hold down the button and clear it. Much easier than pulling the battery or getting out a scan tool. Plus, you don't lose your radio stations and adaptive tuning memory like you do when you pull the battery.
So, let me know which version you would like.
As for timelines, we're looking at shipping units in 3-4 weeks. Parts should be here soon so we can start building and shipping finally!
Guy's I'd like to share my experience with these pesty P0846, P0871 and P0888 codes. I cleared the P0846, P0871 and P0888 with my AutoTap scan tool. The P0846 and P0871 never came back, but the P0888 would always come back.
Well, the car was down for about 10 days, battery removed for a new clutch and tranny. When I got it back, the P0888 was gone and has never appeared again. I asked my Tech if he did something to remove it and he said no, just that the battery was disconnected for that period of time. Figure that one out.

In our experience the P0888 will come back after you drive a bit. Get the car warm and rev above 2500 rpm for some time, then it shows up.
Also, there is the possibility that your scan tool will miss the code. Mine is intermittent sometimes. There are actually two computers responding to the error code query from the scan tool. One is the ECU and the other is the TCM. So some scan tools will miss the TCM response, which is the bad one. But a proper scan tool implementation will always get the TCM response...
A poor scan tool will only expect a single response to an OBD query or only have enough memory to store one response. However, the OBD protocol allows multiple responses and they can come back to back very quickly.

I've driven the car for over 3 months since that time and it has been well above 2500 RPM. The AutoTap OBD II scan (http://www.autotap.com/) and is an excellent scan tool and I seriously doubt it will miss codes, as it never has in the past and especially now with the new revised code. Keep in mind that the P0888 is the pesty one and my scan tool would never remove that one and it always reported it. That one disappeared after the down time on the car.Don't know what to tell you, but that's my experience. Hope this helps.
If it is based on the ELM chip I would suspect that it could miss codes. I believe the ELM only has enough memory for one packet storage and is not fast enough for real time processing. So, if more than one packet comes back, the interface discards it. However, they work around it by asking the same query over and over again until they have all the expected messages. They can miss stuff if they aren't expecting more than one response, however...
Anyway, details. I don't know what to say either. All the S2 w/ toys and S3 cars I've seen, including my own, have had this problem. Clearing the battery has not helped.
The length of time you clear the battery for should also not make a difference. Once it is out, it is out.
