Send me one for free and you will have one more for the streets

I need to get this turbo, but cant afford it due to the hefty price tag of rebuilding a motor and tranny I could send you a pretty 50 trim in return

I had no idea you had no way to control fuel. That is definatly hurting spool if you are hella rich.

As far as spool on my setup it's 3500-3700 at 3k elevation and here at sea level it's around 3200-3300, I forgot about the move to hell (cali).

If you get it dialed in im heading to sac raceway saturday and I wouldent mind getting some good battles in with you.

i removed the dtec kus i got an AEM EMS.

well, i duno WTF is going on. i got my meth hooked up, and turned the boost up.

20ish psi (shut it down once i saw it hit 20) was around 4300 . i shut it off after 4300.
why why why.

afr's during spool was straight 11.8-12.1, and would dive to low 10s during the midrange.

so afr's during spool is good.

something cant be right. im almost 1k rpms off base of what others are doing w/ this turbo.

i seriously need ideas at this point.
we checked my manifold and wg for leaks. none. turned the boost up, still didnt solve nething.

Start over, from square one and assume nothing. As frustrating as it's going to be, that's your only option here. I assume you have ALL the parts you'll need for your setup now?

With everything plugged in and ready to go, start asking the basics like "what are the possible causes of turbo lag?" "what would cause this turbo to spool slower on my engine, vs. another engine?".

I know you've already been doing this, but I'd suggest literally making a numbered list of this stuff; basically, a checklist. Usually, it's a smaller, stupid thing someone overlooks...but because they're so deep into the project (and frustrated), they assume or believe that it can't be X because I've gone over everything already.

Sometimes, things just fall in line and work. Most of the time, especially when you're heavily invested, things like to push back. Don't give up...once you get this setup working the way it should be, you'll forget all about the BS.

try to retard the ignition a little where you want it to spool
doing this allows the power of the exaust gases to reach your turbine wheel and will greatly reduce spool time
just watch your egt's

will do that, when i get my ems in (im going to run low timing anyways).

but regardless, timing or not (people using a dtec/safc would have alot more timing advace than i would, and in theory, would run lower egt's/spool), it shouldn't be 800-1,000 rpm's off base.

gunna pm my engine builder to see if my block can get pulled out next week.
