Josh - Yeah man I research EVERYTHING,im like a sponge I just soak up all the information I can.I always do my homework before I buy/install anything.Thats just how I am.I just think the reason it popped is because the internals have been through alot and the car not being tuned + the added boost was just the last straw for the little guys.I got 50k miles out of them though, lol.Do you think the stock pistons can handle 400+WHP or is that just what people think?I mean who has actually pushed their stock internals over 430WHP?

Anybody?

-Frazier

chuck_srt made 610hp on stock internals and revved to 7800 (w/ the appropriate valve springs of coarse)

that goes to show what the stock internals can do. he did so w/ an ems tho.

keep your timing low (24* max during spool up, falling to ~20 at redline). thatll help save your pistons from detonation city.

a great set of pistons are only as strong as its tune.
there are TONS of guys running 400+ on stock internals. got a local here doing 480hp on a 50trim, and goes as high as 30psi. all stock internals. 55k on the odo.

if you can afford a built motor, do it. if not, just run all new stock internals (from the crank shaft, all gaskets, bearings, rods, pistons, rings, sealant) it cost me about $580 shipped for all that...

You ran out of fuel. We have seen this 3 times now and the fix is a full fuel system. The turbo comes on so quick that supply is just no there.

Mole -

- RC 650's
- Return Line
- DCR 255
- 03' Rail

What more could I need?Hopefully not bigger injectors.... Maybe just the bottleneck fix and a fuel pump rewire?

I'd say once you got the bottleneck fix and the rewire you'd be good to go. Do you have a scan gauge? if so what was the duty cycle on the fuel injectors?

Tzone - I have no scan gauge, but I think the fuel pump rewire and bottle neck fix should be fine.I dont want to put the meth on if I dont have to,but I will if its going to make the car run that much better.

Why would you be restrainig from running meth? The only thing it does is help.

I agree as well as everybody else would. You'll gain a substancial amount of power from it and it will make you run safer by reducing knock.

supermech21 - I just dont want to put it in if I dont have to,if I can make power without it,why use it?Im sure the car will be fine without it once I get tuned,I dont see why not.If I have to ill put it in.

not nitpicking, but damn that is an IGNORANT response man.

once you get that meth in, you'll never boost w/o it.

i cant boost any higher than 19psi on a big turbo w/o detonating, i can take it to 23psi and still be cool w/ my meth on

im adding a 3rd nozzle and will prolly be able to take it to 24psi w/o worries (tho i wont).

meth is the BEST mod my car has seen (aside from a big turbo), and will NEVER come off my car.

dont use it as a tuning advantage, use it to keep things in check. still keep timing low. just because you can raise timing w/ it on, doesnt make things any safer. tuning that way just makes you end up on the "edge" that you were w/o it, and can be troublesome if your meth runs into issues.

I see my water/meth injection as a failsafe! And, it is also nice with the way that gas prices are going! I think it is a cheap way to make sure that you are keeping your engine healthy!
