Josh - Well I stopped by Nemo's last night and he had an answer for pretty much all my problems.

The car hitting a brick wall when I throw gears he said was because my intake coupler was made from a not so strong ply,and that I need to get a more thick ply and that would solve the problem.

All of hoses popping off,oil/coolant leaks/overflow problems....all of those are fixed. Not sure what happened to my car last night or how it happened, but I fried the rings in cylinder # 1 and #4 so the car is down for a while now.

Thanks alot for all the help guys I really do appreciate it,ill keep everyone up to date with what happens with my car in the future.

looks like you deleted your other thread.

its just another day of modding a hp car man. shit like that happens. luckily new stock internals are cheap.

you really need to get a tune down before you romp on the car. 415+hp is no joke, and any small problem in tuning is amplified four fold over that of tuning a stock turbo.

like i said, i got bnib stock pistons/rings if you end up going that route. if you need em, shoot an offer.

Something about 2 psi and the motor went lean or something. Up till then it looks like it was making some very good power. To bad, the EMS would have really made the PTP SST stage 3 fly!!!

Christian - Yeah man,ill let you know about it if something doesnt work out. When I get the car back,im going to install the AEM EMS and then take it to Nemo for a tune immediately. If I cant get done what I want with it,I think ill end up buying some forged pistons though but im not 100% sure yet.

Josh - I have no idea, the car has 49k miles on it.And it has gone through ALOT,3 turbos in a year and a half with stock everything internals.I guess the fact that the car wasnt tuned, the pistons just took a beating after a while. The added power(new 49lb S3 turbo)plus not being tuned was just the icing on the cake for the pistons, you know?

John - I know man it is too bad,the good news is once I get it back next month hopefully the problem will be fixed and the car will be ready for tuning. The car was DEFANITELY making power before this happened, and I want to say it was making 400whp if it blew the rings like this but who am I to say so or not.

Ill keep everyone updated!

was it running lean the whole time or did it just spike too high once and that was all she wrote?

I guess this would be the point that if you choose to continue modding that you learn everything you can and ensure your setup is perfectly safe.

Sorry to hear about that man, research your butt off so you don't take any ones word for it. Don't know if you did but this way you know 100%

Tzone - Thats exactly what happened man,the AFR's were always in the 10's and 11's at WOT.Just when I fixed the boost leak, the boost went up obviously as well as my AFR.That was all it needed to pop I guess.

Josh - Yeah man I research EVERYTHING,im like a sponge I just soak up all the information I can.I always do my homework before I buy/install anything.Thats just how I am.I just think the reason it popped is because the internals have been through alot and the car not being tuned + the added boost was just the last straw for the little guys.I got 50k miles out of them though, lol.Do you think the stock pistons can handle 400+WHP or is that just what people think?I mean who has actually pushed their stock internals over 430WHP?

Anybody?

Stock internals here and I make considerably more than 400hp. I can say this without a doubt,110 leaded fuel has helped keep my motor alive.

I made sure I have a return line and water injection for my stage 3 push..... I think I should be alright with it as it is a nice failsafe..... Should be good from what everyone has said, I think it is just the skimping that people get into trouble...

srag2drag - 110 leaded huh? That sounds expensive, lol.Im just looking to daily drive it on pump gas (93 octane).Do you think ill be alright once I get it tuned on the AEM EMS when using pump?

pphilips - Yeah I might have to start ordering a couple of parts for my meth kit I have sitting in my room. That sounds like it would help me a little more,hopefully.Lol.
