I don't know of many that have seam welded the under hood part of there car. Just thought it was smart to do since I had the motor out.

I will agree(not to start a fight) but the welds dont look that great. But more importantly, why did you weld it there? What issues have you ever ran into to need to weld there?

Is this tuned yet? What did you do to the internals of the tranny, please explain more. I know the process you explained to me awhile ago but that didnt seem very safe.

Function over beauty, I've seen way worse chassis welding on drift cars. We were a little worried that the front chassis was going to have too much flex, so we decide to stiffen up the front chassis by stitch welding the Seems of the chassis to basically re-enforce it. Before welded, we bounced up and down on the front and it flexed quite a bit and after welding we did the same and its a lot more rigid. With welding the seems and having some traction bars, we'll have a pretty solid car going down the track with less flex. With the issue to "need" to weld there is none, Just a assurance for a solid front end, Much like Rally spec vehicle or any other Highly modified vehicle.

The car is under the knife with the built motor being assembled, so no tune yet but hopefully in a few weeks.

That is much of what i can answer for you, john will have to get back to you on the Tranny question.

Yes your right it is an Coolant Overflow, I do believe we have some but i'd have to check because they haven't been added to the site.

Thanks from Nick

spring loaded sheet metal is a major pain in the ass to weld. If I wanted it to be pretty I would have tig welded the hole thing and took 10 hours doing so. I wanted it done and done now, still works.

If your worried about the penatration it was good with buring all the under body coatings off the inner fender and even caught a small amount of it on fire. I could have taken the time to smooth all the welds and make it look pretty, but why. Not a show car, it a track car.

Last, I didn't take it disrepectful but also remember that we are not building a show car. Track cars go fast and look OK doing it. Show cars look good but rarely go fast. Hope that makes sense.

Issues none, could it hurt to weld it there? I didn't think so, so we moved to welding it up. This some thing that we do to every Mustang that plans on going fast.

No, the car is still waiting on the clutch, cly head, and n2o lines to get ran. The trans has notched syncros with matching notched gears. This allows for a 40% reduction in gear side loads when WOT shifting. This is going to be huge if it works out on our set up. It has been working well on 2 others making 400 WHP, not its time to really test the limits of what we have done.

As far as safety goes, you don't make any advancments if you play it safe all the time. The syncro notching has been done for over 40 years in cars that have made more then 2000 HP, if that is good enough for them, its good enough for me. I will be testing it on my personal car before we really start to sell these things.

Yes it is, and we will be making them mid April. I have posted some pictures of it done up in black and back on the car.

If you can get them interested, I will build them. Let me know how many are wanted and I can take it from there. Thanks.
