If you up the boost over 18 psi then this is a good mod for the money. If you can surf the web you can tune this FTM, I am sure that a few will chime in on how easy it is to tune.
It is a very easy device to tune once installed correctly. Just please everyone tuning with this device..... Please make sure to tune the car the best that you can BEFORE turning "Autotune" on. Pull away/Add some fuel globally to where your close to the desired air/fuel you wish to reach.
Then its time for fine tuning.
- Turn on "Autotune" and after adjusting settings(wideband, sensitivity, etc) save/exit.
- Turn your datalogger on and go give the car a run in 3rd.
- Review your datalog and you will see where and when the "Autotune" kicks on. Open up Word or grab a notepad to write down how much and where it pulls or adds fuel. This is of coarse the most time consuming part because every place you see where the autotune has to add or subtract fuel you are going to be recording the rpm, how much fuel it adds/subtracts etc at which is does so.
- Now open your fuel map with the results you just recorded.
- Wherever the "Autotune" had to add fuel you add it in that cell. Wherever it took away fuel you go to that fuel cell and take away whatever the autotune took away.
By going into each individual cell you are fine tuning the car and it will make the air/fuel ratio that much more steady. For instance mine was bouncing from 11.8-12.15 before I went into the cells. Once I went into the cells it went from 11.8-11.9 at most through the whole power band.
What's weird is my autotune has never kicked on, judging by my datalogging runs, and even when I datalogged the dyno run, should it?
Umm did you even hook it up? When you have the program open and are viewing the rpm, mph, etc does the air/fuel monitor work? You have to hook up the FTM to your wideband output so it can get a reading and adjust as it should. Also check your settings for the autotune...is it even turned on? You can tell the autotune when to turn on based on throttle percentage, etc.

Yeah, everything is hooked up, enabled at 80% throttle, 9 on the sensitivity, and 11 on the maximum/minimum correction, set for 11.9, I'm sure it's enabled, maybe it just hasn't had to correct for it if the tune is close enough?

Well when you datalog what does your air/fuel stay at to redline? Do you stay at a constant 11.9 air/fuel ratio? If your not staying at the 11.9 air/fuel to redline then the autotune should be working. The autotune should be pulling or adding fuel to make you have a consistant 11.9 mix. If for some reason you do stay at a 11.9 to redline without the autotune working I pat you on the back for a very well tuned fuel map!

I looked at all the datalogs again, and the autotune line is straight as hell on all of them. I posted some of the dyno runs earlier in the thread somewhere, I think it was in a zip file.

Yes it should but I dont think we have updated your FTM yet. If we have then I need you to check your power supply since it seems that the wire that we got for power seems it likes to "go away" sometimes. No idea why but several 05's have had the problem with the power wire. I will be posting up the new directions in the next few days.

I never got around to updating it actually, ill call u later today about it.
Shit, I forgot to call him, and get it updated, I ended up having to work on my friend's dad's truck all day refilling the freon on it, and searching for leaks.
