Yea the cobra was definitly quick, but I made him piss his pants when he could only barely walk away from me. Not bad when he is 500hp+. I do agree the sensor may be going out as well, but to make sure its still good I will take it out and try to recalibrate it this week. I remember asking you about the global clamping....its set at 5.00 volts and have no touched that. Anyone else here fooled with there or is there a need to? I also will be looking at the analog wire on the wideband to figure out where it is. Also on the output for the wideband I have it says there is also an output ground. Do I need to make sure that wire is ground somewhere?
Edit: How about maybe making this a sticky?
I believe John say to change the Global Clamping to 4.85 volts
Your WB analog output & ground output wire both hook up to the PTP-FTM. Not sure what colors as I dont have the install sheet in front of me.

Ok will have to wait for confirmation about the global mapping.
Yea I know the output is hooked to the FTM, but I dont think the output ground is hooked oto the FTM. I would think it would be grounded somewhere else in the car. Same here no install sheet in front of me so will see what he says if he chimes in unless someone else cna confirm.
I just spliced mine into the WB ground like most all the other wires. On another subject one thing I have noticed. With mine if I want to datalog or tune I have to start and connect with the car turned off but the key in the on position. I don't know if it's a problem with my grounds, or the USB adapter, my laptop,or the FTM. Or maybe it's just how it is supposed to be done.

Wow that is weird... Did you ever try just exitting the software going back in and reconnecting to the FTM?

Had this issues on a few of the prototypes. Make sure that you hooked up to the right power wire on the PCM.

Yeah I double checked all my connections before putting everything back together. I even had the pin otu digrams from the service manual. I think it may be an issue with my usb to serial adapter. Some work batter than others. From reading datlogging forums aparently some will not work at all. I will try a differant adapter.

We had the same issues with the serial to usb as well. I now have the usb to serial wires in stock, they are expensive as shit but they work on everything.
Im going to go from stage 0 to stage 1 is there anything i need to change on the FTM?
Just wondering so ill be ready to do it as soon as i get it done which wll most likely be tommorrow.
Only if your car is an 03. If so you will get bigger injectors and will need to pull a little more fuel or at least retune. All the sensors are the same so your good to go.

Installation question: When you tap into the PCM wires, are there any hints I should know about? ie: how to cut the wire covering away from the wire, if it's easier to install with the pcm out, etc.

Give me a few min. to upload some pics of the tool I used. It makes the job much easier. I have dialup so it will take a few minutes. This tool used like I am shoing does not cut the wire only the insulation. Then what i did was take a sharp scribe and push it through the center of the wire to spread apart the wires. I then inserted the FTM's wire and wrapped it around then souldered the connection. This is a wire stripping tool you can buy in the electrical section of Lowes or Home Depot.
