im also sending you a pm, with questions regarding some of the stuff we talked about plz read it and get back at me.

Glad everything worked out man. Was it just that you needed to get the fuel map closer to what you wanted before you engaged the autotune?

yea it turned out i was realy rich during spike, i mean realy rich! so i had to pull a lot to start seeing a difference, after john helped me out i was able to start seeing some changes, am on the low 11s theres somewhere in the rpms that it goes back to 10s for a sec. i just have to do some dataloggin and get rid of that but now i understand the software more and dont have anyconection issues like before, thanks for trying to help, i hope someday i can return the favor.

Ok Im going to install my FTM this afternoon and I have a few doubts and I hope you guys can calrify this for me:

1. When connecting the white and yellow wire the direction state that we have to cut the wire on the senor side. So from what I understand this means I cut the wire and leave room to strip it and connect it to the FTM...the remaining wire (from the stock harness) I just leave it there and probaly just tape it...is this correct?

2. The blue wire on the FTM I connect to my wideband, the LONG balck wire is the WB ground which I have to ground at the same point where I grounded the WB correct?

3. I installed the software on my laptop already, in the fuel map screen, I see that it only goes to 18.1 psi......Im current boosting 21-22 on a Stage 1 cpu, will this effect anything on my tune or does it matter since we are also tuning by RPM....

4. After the install I just turn my car on and then connect to the FTM....Or do I just turn the key to the ON position

5. I know that I have to calibrate all the sensors first before doing anything

6. I go to the Autotune Parameters window and enable throttle and boost trigger...set at 80% & 10psi........I set my desired AF ratio at 11.8...I do a 3rd gear pull and datalog it correct, from here I can see where the Autotune kicks in, write down the numbers and what not and then go to the Fuel Map window and take fuel away where nessecary......and do this to fine tune on 93 gas correct.....Than I just save the Map.....For race gas I would have to redo this process and save a different Map or NO??

Thanks guys

1. I am not looking at the install instruction right now so can not verify the wire colors. However what you are saying is correct, just make sure you soulder ALL connections.

2. Correct

3.not sure about this one. I am running S2

4.After you are done. Hookup your laptop and start the software. Then turn your key to the on position but not running. Connect to the FTM and calibrate sensors. Calibrate RPM last sincethe car must be running to calibrate this one.

5.see #4

6. Also go to the fuel map page and set the map clamp. I believe John said 4.85 was a good starting point.

The stock sensor will not read over 18.8 psi so if you run higher then that it will not read it. Now since we are pulling fuel away from the map you are in fact pulling the signal away from the PCM so it does not read the boost right but the map that we have is correct for adjusting fuel at set RPM's since it is berfore the modified signal to the PCM. I hope that this makes sence.

The Cable supplied with the kit could not connect to my computer, the plug was different from the one on the computer, I needle a MALE to MALE plug, ok so we got to circuit city and buy a new cable ($15)....So we get back to the car and what do you know, this cable plugs to the computer but not the the FTM.....Bout this point I was really tired after installing this thing all afternoon....So we go back to see if they have a correct cable....they dont so we head down to BEst Buy and there was a calbe that connected to the FTM and used a USB plug to connect to my labtop, great but that thing was $40....ya so I get back to my car....I open the package and the cable is like a freaking foot long....which means I have to buy an extension of some sort....So I try to connect to the Labtop and nothing!!!!! Kept saying that PORT COM to connect too.....I tried everything in the book....I cannot connect to this thing....by this point it was 10pm and I was hot as hell and fustrated so I gave up....I drove home which was like a 40 min drive.....

You connect the annolog out wire to the FTM I did a search and came up empty. Find your install directions for the wideband and then you will have your answer. I am sure that someone will have an idea very soon but I dont install that brand and cant seem to find any directions for the install.

You should have to pick what com port to connect to and the USB cable should have came with CD to load a program into the laptop so it will comunicate with the program in the FTM. I have seen this about 5 times now and I suspect that the next version will have a usb cable instead of the serial cable.

Slow down your going to screw something up. Your USB cable should have come with a CD that helps the cable to comunicate with older programs. You need a better USB cable. When it asks for the comm port how many if any does it say you have to choose from? If none then the cable is at fault not the FTM. We had to make software for the FTM so it could use both old and new computers but the USB only set ups are not set up to read the FTM software so you need to get a cable that can read windows 98 and such. When you get the cable it will say that it can run all of the programs listed on the front of the package. That is the USB cable that you will need.

I'm having a small issue or two myself. I've been playing with the fuel map so the auto tune doesn't have to work so hard, however my a/f is not consistant in different gears. Its fine in 1st-3rd but then 4th it wants to go lean on me. Of course I soldered all the connections, I feel pretty confident about them considering I do most the electrical work at the dealer I work for. But I seem to have a miss at part throttle, just cruising. And a small hestation in 4th gear. other then that everything seems fine. I got the a/f ratio stable but it seems like the FTM isn't reacting quick enough. Any thoughts on this?
