the ptp and kinetic are Identical

If I'm not mistaken, the exterior's are the same, but the PTP WGA has a stiffer spring. Regardless I'm buying one from PTP when I get my SST because #1 I'm loyal and #2 I'm a PTP Crew Member that John treats very well. John please chime in and put this to rest.

Nope, we have the adjuster nut and we drill the hole to fit better with the WGA flapper. Not the same, better.

Its a very fine line from the MBC to the WGA. I still think you have a boost leak some where. Have you checked your intake manifold gasket for leaks? Get back to me on that as well as the results from your last boost leak test. Remember you have to test 5psi over your spike pressure to ensure that you have all your leaks tracked down.

The last test i did was only to 25psi or so.At that time i didnt hear any leaks. I will retest again and bring the psi to 30 and see how that works.

I need to ask how its running now? Its seems to be getting better but you don't seem to be 100% yet. Get back to me on this so we can either close this thread or keep it open, thanks.

John, can the PTP WGA be adjusted without taking the upper heatshield off or trimming it a little and is your stiffer WGA spring made for the PTP WGA's or would it be a moot point installing one since it holds more boost to begin with ? Thanks, it's just some info that I'll be needing soon

Yes is can be adjusted with out removing the HS. No the stiffer spring is for the AGP and stock WGA.

If you want to test the WGA you can pull the line off the WGA (boost line) and then run it really quick. If the boost stays the same then you either have a incorrectly set WGA or a very large boost leak somewhere. Get back to us on what you find and what not, thanks.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I have a question regarding the "bolded" portion. I have been having boost issues, car only boosting 13psi and holding only 9-10 whereas I normally boost 20psi and hold 18-19. Well, I removed the line from the wastegate and and ran it real quick and it spike super high very quickly. So does this mean that my WGA is the problem or could something else be causing this?

I have an SSTV2 and an AGP billet WGA. Wastegate is connected straight to back of turbo.

I would have to say yes to the WGA being the issue. Does the WGA arm move during your boost leak testing?
