Do this, check your compression by getting a compression tester for say $30 at any auto parts store. You own a turbo car and that $30 is a VERY WISE investment regardless. Then if the compression is uneven take a spark plug out and pour some oil on top of that piston. Test it again and if the compression goes up then your rings are gone, but if you dont see any issues your good to go. Also with a head gasket you should notice a big change in the daily heat temp of the car.

u made 1 more hp and 22 less tq than me and ALL I HAD was s1 s2 wg 18psi to 15ish psi 3 in d pipe into stock exhaust.. meth and everything else stock.. (i had a map clamp it was broken i know this bc i make 273.5hp, 273.3hp, 5 times in a roll adjusting the clamp inbetween) with NO TIME FOR THE INTERCOOLER TO COOL DOWN..... GOTTA LOVE METHANOL

my tq curve would have been a little better but the meth turn on point is to low, kicks on and the car bogs every so slightly. also my wg falls to about 12psi at redline so theres more power available, going to switch to an AGP unit one of these days.

i dunno what the deal is but no amount of preload allows me to hold a decent amount of boost to redline, i'll change to an agp, see what the results are, if i dont like em, i'll get a 50trim down the line haha

PTP WGA is way better than the AGP WGA. i have been told the same by all the guys that have swaped over to the PTP WGA.

I found a local speed shop that will do the compression/leakdown tests. I can get the car in on thursday.

Sounds good but I didnt get the rest of my questions answered about the boost gauge, WI, blah blah blah. Get me up to date on those few things. If everything turns out OK then I guess we will be sending you another turbo to make sure it OK. If the same power levels come out of that one then I guess we will have to go another direction. Does the car feel faster after the SST install?

Im kinda dissapointed i didn't hit over 300 today. I had 0 Kr according to my techgauge. Peak iat's that run was 135 deg. My afr was 12.5 falling to 11.3 at redline. My timing was 28 deg at redline. I'll post the sheet as soon as i figure out my fiance's scanner. What am i doing wrong?

I dont know but the stock air box elbow could be collapsing with the SST like the KnN intakes did with the stock turbo. This is just an idea and what does your filter look like? If you had a dirty filter it would put even more stress on the rubber intake. Quick test would be to take the top of the air box off or take the filter out (not a good idea due to all the debris that collects in the bottom fo the air box) and run it. Better yet just pull the top of the air box off the car and leave the black tube on there and then run it. If it feels better and makes more butt dyno power you may have found the problem.

Cloud, you might want to swap out your M5 nozzle for a M3, when i ran a M5 on my stock turbo with stock pump pressure i lost about 30whp avg. The M5 was too much for the smaller turbo, you might want to try the smaller nozzle to make sure your not bogging down your motor with too much water/meth. I'm running my M5 nozzle on my 50 trim setup.

My w/i is functioning correctly. The reason for the m5 over the m3 was KR. I would get 1-3 KR on s2(before SST) with a 60/40 meth mix. I bought a m5 and it went to 0 on 91 oct fuel reguardless of air temps. From the searches ive read, using more than 60% meth can cause damage to the intake over time. If this isnt true, please let me know. I can raise the mix and drop nozzle size. Also alot of s2 guys had greater success holding HOM with the w/i closer to the TB. That is the reason for my placement.

My air filter is a K&N drop in, i cleaned/oiled less than 2 weeks ago. When the rain stops here in missouri ill try taking off the lid.

My boost gauge is brand new cobalt. It replaces the standard lighted autometer that was in there. I tossed the stock gauge a while back. Only reason for the change was visability. The blue is MUCH easier to read at night. Both gauges read exactly the same.

Again, thanks for your guy's imput. Im not opposed to the idea that my "tune" was bad. Since the car is my daily driver, i would rather check everything i can before taking off the turbo.

All my thrre friends are decent drivers. Not bad at all. How can this be?
