Default Is it worth the swap to go from 50 trim to GT3076R?

i know i know i know, SEARCH!..i have already searched and read lots of posts and everything and i have a really good idea of this turbo now but i just want some feed back from you guys, do you think this turbo is worth upgrading to from my 50 trim? my car runs the 50 trim on 28 pounds with alky with cams, ported parts etc, would the 3076R be more efficient and make more power? is it all around better than the 50 trim turbo on higher boost?

I can't really answer what your looking for directly, but from searching previously..I have read that the 3076r really shines with ace gas + 22 and above psi of boost. I remember a guy stating, "how he would know if the what turbo was for him" (between the 50 trim and the 3076r). The guy stated that if you're primarily going to be anywhere from 21 psi and below, with some track use but mainly street driven; then the 50 trim would be for him. If your car was going to see a lot of race gas and high boost with otfen track abuse, then the 3076R would be for him.

Maybe if the 50 is blown and you find a helluva deal on the 3076.

that depends on what version of the 3076r your looking to run. are you looking to run it with the garret exhaust housing or a t31 housing like agp uses? the t31 housing has a 2 1/4 outlet vs the garrett housing which is 3' now with a log manifold,agp,kinetic,etc.. the garrett housing will cause fitment issues with the dumptube and downpipe and a custom 02 housing will need to be fabed which is the reason agp uses a diff housing. to correct that a tubular manifold will be needed. the 3' is going to make better #'s up top vs the 2 1/4 but will also out power the 50trim at the same time at low boost or high! example.. i run a precision 3076r with a s cover 4inch inlet 2.5 discharge and 3 inch outlet vs a 50 trim with a 3inch inlet,2inch discharge,2 1/4 outlet... you tell me
I made the swap and it was well worth it to me as I picked up a GOOD amount of hp/tq compared to the dbb 50 trim at the same boost level I ran the 50 at.

I would have a tough time upgrading to the 3076r from the 50 since the release of the s256. It seems to make similar numbers to the 3076r with similar spool to the 50 trim, but it costs less than the 3076r from what I remember.
