I say this after many attacks on forums besides this one. This forums has been pretty calm and a bunch of nice guys so far.
I'd have to imagine that most of the people that don't like this program either don't have it setup or configured properly or are butthurt over the numbers they are coming up with. It's not really so much about the numbers, as it is a great tuning aid. But at least for my setup, the numbers are a very good ballpark figure i'd imagine They have to keep in mind that its a free program that you put your time into creating and are here for support for these forums. I appreciate it |

The numbers were higher when I changed it to a 4th gear pull. But when I put it in third gear my number were like 160 then when I changed it to 4th gear the came up to about 270 which is about what I was figuring

Go to File -> Car Editor and look over the numbers for your car in there. Make sure one of the gear ratios isnt off. If it is report it to me and Ill fix it in the definitions.

Could be ... make sure the road is the flattest you can find, and with no gravel or pot holes as wheels spin will cause a spike.
I only left the 0 smoothing option in there so I could use it to spot spikes. It will look pretty wavy but you will definitely notice the spikes if you have any. |

hahaha ... nice. There is a little button beside tire size you can enter your tire specs and it will figure the diameter for you. I measure instead of using it though just so Im pinpoint accurate. The more accurate your information the more accurate VD is. Grats on figuring out the issue Drax!!

How about slicks? I run 24.5"s but slicks have a tendency to 'grow' at higher speed. Do you think it could significantly impact the results? |

What do you have a pro mod dragster?
I guess that could make the numbers off a little bit at higher speed ... but I think your measurements of the tires is going to be off more with the human measuring factor than its going to change size. What about tread wear? These are things I worry about with my numbers. I make sure to measure myself. The more accurate and 'anal' you are about those details the closer your numbers will be. |
