i recently purchased a Neon sxt '03 i am trying to get a general idea on how to convert it over to a srt, i am completely new the 4 cylinders and turbos and how they work...i no horrible but if anyone can give me some pointers i would really appreciate it - Thanks
It is a lot of work and does take some time so if you are thinking it is going to be an easy job then your wrong. Especially if you do not know much about the SRT. Swaps are not usually for beginners. If you wanted an SRT you shoud have bought one. They are going cheap nowadays. I saw one go for 6G's the other day.And it was in great condition.
Yeah I'm noticing a lot of you guys buying SXT then trying to convert them to SRT-4s. Saw one at a supermarket about 7 months ago. I thought it looked ricey. The turbo kit alone is going to run about $2000, intercooler $400, exhaust system $1000, wheels $700, etc. Once you piece everything up, it'll cost more than a SRT-4.
Sxt -> SRT is simple if you have the wrecked srt sitting 3 feet from your SXT when you begin the tear down. Its really not to complicated. I did it myself in about 3 weeks (couple hours a day) Just follow the link in my Signature. Plenty of picks and hurdles i ran into along the way.
i really think it wont be that hard or make it looked "rice" front rear bumper, suspen, side skirt, engine turbo electronics, comp, breaks, some little more little less....buy the block build a little at a time the way you want it, i think i can honestly do it for under 6k

I'd love to see pics of the entire build and I hope you do a complete swap (including exterior and interior). This would definately get my vote for SRT-4 of the month. I saw one guy with a SXT, started to convert it but then gave up and now his car looks half ass. Something like this would take time, money and knowledge. Can't see how it'll cost less than $6,000. But if you do pull it off, I'd tip my hat to you.
Calll ur local junk yard I bet they've got an srt or 2 laying around
lol yea no there like finding a lambo, sure you see them driving around here but you wont be able to find a donor.
