tuning stage 1

how much horsepower can I look at getting with just the stage1,intake, and 3 inch from o2 housing to the back?
I'm debating on buying a Wally and rc750cc injectors to max out the turbo.
Idk which route to go with as i'm still learning about upgrading parts.

You'll make whatever your local dyno says you make. Adding mods does not have a predictable result where if you put on X you'll get Y HP.

Read the guide before wasting money on parts you don't need: SRT-4 Performance Modifications and Upgrade Paths

Stage 1 is completely obsolete, you'll do MUCH better with a handheld flash programmer.

Why do some people get stage 1 and dsp? Does running a dsp on a stock pcm and running a catless down pipe throw a code? Would running dsp on a stage 1 pcm make a difference as far as not throwing codes?

Stage 1 PCM wont throw on cat codes.

But you can have a CMR tuner adjust the tune for the stock PCM to do the same thing.

But I have read that even with dsp and the code turned off the car won't pass emissions but with stage 1 it will

^ depends on how you turn it off with the CMR software.

There is a "correct" and "not correct" way to turn off the o2 sensor.

Interesting to note, if that's true. I always read that the code could be turned off, but that it was a 'not ready' signal still, and would fail emissions OBD tests. Regardless, i have S1 in Arizona and havent bothered getting rid of it because it makes testing a piece of cake.

If you do it the right way, the code will show up as not applicable just like what the stage pcm's do.

Nice, so I'll keep my stage 1 pcm, i just need to get it flashed....does anyone know where to get it done? Does flight system still flash 'em? I went to the dealer and they said they would charge their normal rate to take the old pcm out, put the new one in, and then flash it, and they said they wouldn't guaranty that it would work... Can they mess it up and erase the tune that's in the pcm?

If you mean getting the VIN flashed to the PCM so you can use it in your car that's not really a big deal. There are instructions on the site on how to do it that you can bring with you to the dealer. By erase the tune, no, they can always load the S1 calibration on it. If you have a DSP\SCT tune on it now that you're trying to preserve that would likely get wiped out because it's paired to a VIN.

SCT is just fine but unless you have and learn how to use the PRP option you have to have an SCT tuner make changes for you each time and every time you need even the slightest thing altered. The DSP is more popular because you can get a base tune from a tuner that's got everything you need to run the car then you can tweak fuel, spark, boost, fan activation temps, etc anytime you want and however you want without having to go back to the tuner. The SCT, as you know, doesn't datalog which is extremely helpful when diagnosing issues or tuning fuel and spark. Many people that use SCT will get a DSP that's locked to another car for a very low price just for datalogging purposes.
