How important is a catch can if you plan on doing mods?

Catch can has nothing to do with other modifications. It prevents oil from gathering in the intercooler piping, AKA your intake.

Should turbo timer be added to that list?

It's an unnecessary convenience. What is essential is that you leave your engine running for awhile to cool down based on how hard you were driving the car. How you do it doesn't really matter. So you can just babysit the car and let it run for awhile before taking the key out or you can buy TT and not worry about it and let it shut itself off. I often drive the car around to cool it down. If you accelerate slowly, shifting early, and keep it at sustained high speeds(such as on the highway w/o downshifting), this will do a great deal towards cooling your car down, reducing the time needed to babysit it. However, you often don't have the time to either drive it for awhile to cool off or just sit and let it run, so this is where a TT helps. You can drive as hard as you want to get somewhere then take the key out and lock up and forget about it and the TT will keep the engine running for as long as it needs to cool down. Its great for bein around a hundred bux, plus it will often have other neat features as well such as lap timers or even a rather simplified a/f meter. So the bottom line is, its not entirely necessary but it is a nice accessory to have that will ultimately help your engine last a bit longer.

Or just beat the piss out of it and park it. When the turbo goes, you have a good excuse to tell the wife why you need to upgrade. Then you get the turbo timer.

Any time now........

This is why you don't buy a used turbo.

Default hmmm

ok, MOPAR Route.

Stage 1, mopar cat back, drop in K&N = 255hp??? How about adding a mopar cat delete...then what??? 265hp? Curious. Anyone Please Chime in on this thought. Easy bolt on modding here for newibies. all for around 1K.

Or stage 2 w/o toys...850 bucks...Hard starting issues I'm hearing though, esp in cold winter. S1 seems to work better. S3 the best, but $$$.

Default Help

Hey everyone.......I have a SII, Cold air intake, Mopar Cat back, and BOV. I am looking into a downpipe, M clamp, and motor mounts for my next upgrades. Any suggestions as to what brand would be the best?

Also, I have an APEXI AVC-R boost controller. After reading the instructions I noticed that it states not to install on American cars. Has anyone known of this being installed into an SRT-4? Would this even be worth the headache?

Default thanks

That was the first question i was going to ask when i joined this forum. As long as nobody has any serious disagreements with how it was put out, i'm all "a-flustered" with thanks.

Another question... are those part numbers right for the spark plugs? They read in the post 'LZTR5AIX-1' but should they be 'LZTR5AIX-13'? I'm looking to get spark plugs on a basically stock car (intake, JMB Hard Pipes) and can't seem to find a real answer. I'm thinking of going with the NGK plugs 'LZTR5AIX-13' and not the 'LZTR6AIX-13' because they are a heat range colder. Anyone want to chime in on this? It would be greatly appreciated as there is no CLEAR answer to this on the forums. Thanks!
