Default Kits and parts

This is just a thought, but...

I think Turbo kits are good for new tuners and safe setups,

However, nothing beats building your own.

Oh, the AEM EMS is probably the best thing I bought, you can control everything and learning how to use it teaches you alot about your car.

Default Finally got back to it.

There is no easy way to build the plumbing to run two turbos sequentially. I have about 10 days left before I get home and really start posting my progress.

I will try and be specific with pictures each and every day if possible. No promises though.

So, anyone curious to see what one wild imagination, some skills and alot of money to spend will do to a street car, stay tuned.

1000cc injectors for a gt3071? Talk about over-kill.

Perhaps a bit of an overkill. I ran 750cc injectors for a while and while I do worry on the loping idle this may create. These injectors have a higher fuel psi limit and are peak and hold injectors. I have not gotten rid of the 750cc's just yet. My 750's come close, but I always welcome overage.

I'll give some good insight later once I find out how they work out.

Default Exhaust pipes.

I have just finished assembling the exhaust pipes, at the cost of one eye. I bought a Tube manifold and mocked up the back of my engine, accounting for all space and plumbing. I purchased oodles of mandrel bent pipes and flanges for this project, which my wife mailed to me here in Iraq.

After mocking up a GT3071R, I built the primary dump pipe, which starts about 7 or 8 inches away from the discharge of the turbo. The pipes are 16 gauge mild steel. on the upper end is the Tial 44mm WG outlet flange, on the lower end is a Tial 44mm inlet flange, pointing to the left (DS).

After the turbo, before the primary pipe sit two mor items. The first after the turbo is a bypass pipe, feeding exhaust gas back to the left (DS), it then bends down into a T25 inlet flange. After this fitting is a 3 inch bypass valve that will duty cycle open using an actuator. This plate willallow 1/2 of the exhaust gas to spool the larger (Primary) turbo without allowing it to put the GT30 into full operation.

Where the dump pipe is on the Tube manifold, a pipe wraps around the right (PS) and feeds into the back of the other 2 inch pipe, which feeds the smaller (Starter) turbo. The wastegate is split from this tube.

Inline with the GT22 inlet pipe is another 2 inch bypass valve that will duty cycle closed (if I choose to do so).

The discharge for this turbo feeds into the main pipe where the 44mm inlet flange is set.

This setip has been reenforced with 10 gauge steel on the seams and is awaiting final cleanup and ceramic coating.

I built it modularized so that I can change out turbochargers and remove one of them if I see fit. Right now, I can put on either a T04E, GT2252 or a GT2554R turbocharger.

It sounded pretty sick before, I just want to be able to turn the sickness off and on at will. My boys are more excited to help me put it back together.

Very good comment. I have been teaching him everything I know and as much as I woulf love to hand over the keys in three years, I would also like to have him around in five.

With the modularized system, I can pull the second turbo out, drop the boost, set the gears back to street, pull the plugs on the 2nd fuel pump, larger injectors and exhaust cutout. Then I load a simpler, less aggressive AEM calibration and he has an A-B car. All this without taking anything away.

I figured he can prove himself and earn the HP back.
If that's not bad enough, my 8 year old is saving his allowance for a GTR?!

oh goodness

Ditch that clutch, and if you plan on making real power and actually beating on the car, think about beefing up the tranny.

Default Some answers
1) you can push 500+ and still have a relatively streetable car. Just depends on what you're willing to tolerate.

2) Yup, use search for your answers.

3) 30 lbs. eh? Pump or race gas? Get some NGK 4306's.
Yes, a car that can be changed is multiuse. 500 whp is crazy strong for a car its size. Most cars in that range can only go in a straight line.

I use 93 Octane (Pump Gas)
Now, before I get a list of reasons to get racing fuel. don't.
If I ever get around to taking my car to a track, I'm going to run it like a normal tuesday. If I were after numbers, then maybe, but it's not my goal.

Your posts confuse me a little bit. I don't quite get what you're driving at here

The SRT is such a great platform for this reason. I love that you DD it. Eric (Erabbit23) DD'd his for a long time too. He only stopped doing so because he wanted something a little more comfy and spacious in a DD (he's about to break 9's in a 5-speed, for those that don't know who he is).
