Ok, so eventually, I want to buy the garret turbo setup, when purchasing it tells you to specify A/R, and the choices are, .48 .62 and .83.

What are the advantages/dis advantages to either or?

Thanks

A lower # AR will spool faster but wont make power as high up in the RPM band
[ example full spool at 2900, boost starts to taper off around 6100]
A higher # AR will spool slower but will make more overall HP higher in the RMP's
[ example full spool at 3500, boost starts to taper off around 7600]

It really does amount to what characteristic you want your car to have. If your lookin for low end wheel spinnin torque and plan on shifting below 7000... The lesses/lower # AR is prolly more what your looking for.
If a track car is what your looking for... Somthing that either takes off relitavly controlled from the line [unless a wot box is involved] but redlines at 8000+ and makes good power all the way up the RPM band, then the higher # AR is more where to look.
Hope this helps.

I should also note: These numbers are all examples and are in refrence to NO perticular turbo. There really are quite a few things to take into consideration when deciding on the rite AR housing. Bearing cartrige also has a pretty big impact on spool time... for instanse, a dbb .50 trim with a .63 AR will spool up just a couple hundred rpms slower than a .50 trim non-bb with a .48 AR housing, but the dbb .50 trim will make power for an extra 1000-1500ish RPMs....
