quick question

hey guys i have a quick question, i have been out of the srt4 world for quite a long time so i am not familiar with what some of these newer cailber srt4s are capable of. maybe you guys can clue me in real quick.
I am talking to a guy who has a caliber srt4 and claims, with the following modifications that his car put down 370whp and 370wtq and trapped 120mph
Agp intercooler, AGP intake, ms1kv3 tune, agp catless downpipe, magnaflow 3"exhaust, and weight reduction (not sure what all this entails)

claims he no longer has any of the stuff and has recently sold the car to get into a boosted civic.
the reason for my suspicion is because he posted a youtube video of him walking a 2011 cts v pretty hard and claims the caddy was running perfect without any issues.

Unknown but the Caliber Forum people might know, traffic is light around here these days and a lot of people are gone on to different things.
With that said though I always thought the Calibers were heavier and didn't take to mods like the Neon because of their engine being the "world engine".
Also even the Neon would have had a challenge putting down those numbers.
Did he say he was running e85 and a 'tune'? He might be forgetting somethings..............................

Ditto the Caliber Forum.
The CSRT is no joke.
Much better head, apparently, than the Neon SRT.
Bigger turbo (dare I say a Stage 3 variant?).

Definitely agree that the MS1K from RealTune woke up my CSRT big time.
Good to see Aaron is continuing to perfect the tune as in the "ms1kv3".

Not sure about the dyno numbers though.
If it's being represented as a guide then that's fine.
370whp and 370wtq still seems a bit high for those mods though.
But weight reduction could have helped the 120 trap, assuming the God-aweful-heavy 19" wheels were ditched and the intero gutted.
It wouldn't be my cup of tea like that, I liked mine because it was fully loaded and quick enough with MS1K.

It's a pump gas street car.

I agree about the 370 seeming quite high. That's nearly 100 more than stock without much substantial work, I could see 50 more, but like many in here said, I'm not entirely familiar with Caliber tuning, especially in the last few years, haven't been watching their forums at all.

I find the less well you know someone, the more they "embellish" what their vehicle is capable of in discussions. I spent the better part of a half hour last night trying to explain to my uncle that there is no way a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup with the V6 would get 30 mpg consistently. He has a friend who swears that's the case. Sure thing buddy, maybe going downhill, ALL the time. Mostly I see those things getting about 17 mpg.

Trap speed calculator shows that for 3400 pounds (assuming 3200 pound curb weight plus fluids and driver) to be trapping 120 would take close to mid-400 hp. Even with some weight reduction it's still well over 400. But who knows. Maybe "120" was really something averaged up. Maybe it wasn't that fast and he has a fuzzy memory. Maybe he had way more modifications than he said. Maybe he's flat out lying. Maybe he was on a dyno that read extremely conservative, he did some extensive weight reduction, averaged up a mph or two from what he remembers, and it really was trapping 120.

While trap speeds aren't influenced too much by traction problems and poor launches and can be one of the better ways to compare the power and power curves of different cars, unless he still had the car and you were running against him at the same track and same conditions it doesn't mean much. Just like many claim "most" SRT-4s ran high 13 to really low 14 seconds stock, in Southern California you'd be lucky to hit a 14.5 due to track fuel available and other variables.

The Caliber SRT-4 with tuning can put decent power down but that does sound high for the modifications and fast for the power level if he was making that much on an accurate dyno.

'92 Dodge Daytona IROC R/T --- -- '91 Dodge Spirit R/T
plus a couple other turbo Dodges, a Cobalt, a couple Focus, big S/C wagon, and some other stuff...
