So I finally thought it was time to get a thread made up w/ some pictures of my build just to see what everyone thought. I read a lot before I started on this adventure. And I put a lot of work into getting all the parts I needed, along with some custom work I had to do on my own.
I do realize a "big" turbo would have been less of a headache. Im okay with the parts I went with, and don't need to hear that I should of went big turbo and been done with it.
I like the idea of "building" my own kit. Sourcing out the parts I needed, along with trial and error was, to me, part of the fun.
Before Mods:
DST
3" ebay downpipe
Innovative Wideband
So pretty much close to stock.
Mods:
s16g Turbo (internally gated)
-4 AN Braided oil feed line
Log manifold
External wastegate block off plate
Custom DP w/ E-cutout
Custom 3" vband o2 housing (w/ 3 bolt to vband adapter)
Spec Stage 2+ clutch
Meth kit (also pieced together)
UHP with HKS BOV
Needswings.com Catch can
BFMIC
Solid motor and trans mounts
My whp goal going into this was to have a ~300 - 350whp daily driver. Also once I got all my parts together, I wanted to have the car up and running as soon as possible.
s16g turbo
s16g next to stocker
Custom 3" o2 housing w/ adapter
Custom DP w/ E-cutout
Meth pump and coolant overflow (mounted right behind drivers side bumper)
Clutch installed
o2 housing installed
DP installed on o2 housing. Had a little persuading to do, but I managed to get it to fit:clap:
Turbo installed
First drive after finishing everything
Mind you, all of the work was done by me, with some help from my dad if I needed another set of hands. Installing everything for the most part went very smooth. Other than the oil return line leaking a bit on initial startup, but got that issue taken care of pretty quick.
I wanted to see what everyone thought, because I haven't seen very many people go this route. Which made it a little more difficult to find parts, and make sure I was getting the right ones.
But either way, if you like it or hate it let me know! I know the :flame: will come. I went this route because I chose to go this route, while others buy kits. To each their own!
Im still in the process of breaking in the clutch, but after that ill have more pics and videos.
As for fuel mods go, im still all stock. Suggestions on a fuel setup are more than welcome, Im just driving it normal to make sure everything is okay for now. Im not planning on racing it anytime soon.
Any questions/comments, please feel free to ask:clap:
