Don't be so hard on urself... it's fixable with practice and all that sand probably makes it hard for everyone to launch.
a lil info... for every tenth you take off ur 60ft time takes about two tenths off ur 1/4 mile. So if you can drop ur 60fts from 2.4 to say 2.1 you will be .5 faster in the 1/4.
Lower tire pressure to about 29 or so if ur on street tires. Take ur time at the line and stage shallow (stop right when the 2nd staging light lights). Bring rpms up to 2000-2200 and barely slip the clutch a little. when the 3rd yellow light turns on GO but don't just mash the gas! Launch by slipping the clutch and feathering the gas to keep the tires from breaking totally loose (for me feathering 3/4 throttle and slipping clutch some works well).... shift to 2nd around 5800 (the car will tell when you to shift). Slip the clutch ever so lightly going into 2nd while bringing the gas on and if tires do not spin then punch it to the floor and hold it there all way to the end. Gets me 2.1 2.2 60ft times consistently on worn out tires. (still not the best 60fts but MUCH better, with new tires i bet i can pull a 2.0)
I used to have 2.4 60fts and that's how i improved. I went from 14.4-14.5 @100 to 14 flat with occasional 13.9 @101/102. Stock clutch, stock mounts, with bald potenza re50a and mods in sig (minus the clutch).
(small local track = KCIR, elevation = ~850ft)
