Default oil gauge setup through head plug

I couldn't find much more than "hey, here it is, put the sender there..."

well I just put in an AN- T fitting with plugged ends, I'm getting the gauges in the mail this week and will later put pics with the senders in place.

I placed the T the way it is because I need to fit the sender for the electric oil pressure gauge.

here's how I did it:
1-all female 1/8 NPT T
1-male to male 1/8 NPT connector
optional...1 pack of 2- 1/8 NPT plugs
teflon tape
T30 (or equivalent hex head) bit
flat head screw driver(to remove the stock head plug)

1. remove intake
2. unplug the battery and remove
3. wrap all threads with teflon tape
4. tighten down the AN plugs, 1 in the middle of the T and 1 at the end.
5. tighten down the male-male connector in the other end
6. completely loosen the middle head plug with a large enough flat head screw driver(must wedge tight, diagonally in the square hole). Quickly remove the plug and place the male portion of your T into the head, now tighten by using a 5/8 open end wrench to turn the body of the T.
7. replace everything and drive around for awhile to check for leakage.

here's the AN- parts...cost is 17 with plugs and 14 without.......

Here's the plug......

Here's the T in place.......

Once again, I used plugs because I don't have the gauges in yet, and wanted to ensure the T wouldn't leak. To add a sendor or 2, use the T30 bit to remove the AN plugs, and use teflon tape around the threads of the sender. Autometer as well as most companies use 1/8 NPT for the senders.

new pics to be added later this week...................

Cool... we could use a detailed how-to for this.

However, I see a potential problem:

The electric oil sender gets a ground from where it screws into the head. You need to make sure your fitting is a good conductor. Also be careful how you wind the teflon tape. Only put a narrow strip toward the back of the fitting; you need to have a clean contact between the sender and head.

Otherwise the gauge may not work.

Default the final chapter, read to sticky!

It's been a week and my gauge has arrived, upon closer inspection, the setup is much easier to fit with a manual sender, but the electrical will work( a little harder to get to, but nothing too crazy).

I have decided that I don't want a temp gauge, so I ditched the T and plugged the electrical sender in to the head....might I add that it fits in there in a way that it looks like it came with the car to begin with.

*note: I wrapped the entire thread with teflon tape about 6 times, when you tighten it in, the threads will cut through the tape and make contact, so there shouldn't be worries of the ground not connecting.

also, I ditched the gauge pillar idea and used the autometer carbon fiber gauge cups, so far I have 2 and will add a third in a couple months. I ran the wires through grommets I added behind each gauge on the a-pillar (I figured this would give a professional and clean style). WHAT YA GUYS THINK???
yay or gay
