Damn you guys have inspired me to go S3/Toys. Whats the fastest S3 to date, and if you could provide the fastest 50 trim, that'd be really helpful too.

Dude, it's not about which is faster. It's about what you want to do. If you want more HP and are willing to tune, go 50 trim. If you want plug and play and easy daily drivability, go S3. They both have great capabilities, and great ways to go. I chose S3 because I wanted to avoid tuning. I dunno, it just depends on what works best for you.
A question for you S3R Guru's. I feel this is a serperate issue, but the last problem with the care was the stock S3R fuel pump went bad. I replaced it with a Walbro 255.
The Problem: I can sometimes hear ping @ the top of 2nd, and under high boost at lower RPM's in 3rd.
The car gas never done this before. I have tried a few different brands of 91 without resolve. No codes are thrown.
As a test; I engaged HOM, put the car into 3rd with a tank of 91. As I rolled onto the gas I immediatly stopped once I heard audible ping. HOM did not drop. Prior to this issue HOM would drop well before I could acutally hear ping.
I changed the wires and plugs today, that did not resolve the issue.
Its almost like the knock sensor is not picking up the knock in time.
Is it possible my knock sensor may be jacked up and not working correctly?

The car seems to be running strong. Any ideas?

Whats fuel pressure at the rail now with new pump?
Wideband? What A/F?
Ever replaced or retorqued knock sensor?
Stock Wastegate.
91 pump is all that available here. It ran fine before on the 91. I have some Lucas oct booster in the garage. Have not dumped any octane boosters in for some time now.
Spike 24, Hold 21. Boost leak tested again tonight (30psi). No leaks.
Fuel pressue. I have not measured it. I will need to get the appropriate hardware to do this.
AEM Wideband not here yet, Techgauge not here yet either (back order). Not here yet = story of my life.
Never replaced or retorqued the knock sensor. (31,000 kms on the car)
I realize that once my gauges arrive I will be able to view/provide the data in order to diagnose. I was just hoping that someone may be able to stear me in the right direction in the mean time.

try removing the knock sensor, sanding the block and reinstalling. sometimes some rust gets in between the sensor and the block and it does not funciton properly. i had this happen, cleaned it up and it was good again for a while. i ended up replacing the sensor after i was getting kicked out of hom w/C16 in the car and i finally got fed up. it's been fine ever since.

I remember someone else using HOM on 91 oct. and it would ping and stay on. He mentioned it would only do it in 1st or 2nd gear. I wouldn't engage HOM till the good gas is in.
mine was pinging like that when i first installed the walbro 255. btw, i'm the guy that srtworker mentioned. my car on 91 pump will hold hom in 1st & 2nd gear, it won't ping most of the time and when it does, hom still holds.. HOWEVER, in 3rd gear hom kicks out immediately..
anyway, my car is good now i think my problem was my pressure regulator can was not set correctly, i believe there is an oring in there that has to be airtight.. because i simply pushed the can in more one day and it clicked inside the plastic tabs and all sudden all that pinging on pumpgas (10 a/fr's) went away

Are you speaking of the long snout off of the fuel pump assembly that jams up into the upper canister? Or about the blue O-Ring that sits in the bottom of the Canister. This is very helpful being it sounds like it is the exact same problem.
