I finally listened to everyone in this thread and got the stage 3 agp wastegate. All I can say is now 3rd gear roll races are also useless since the tires spin till about 90 or so. I had trouble keeping it in my lane. I can wait to see what it will do in high octane mode!
I just hope everyone uping the boost is also investing in the proper gauges to monitor things. A scangauge is really a must and a A/F meter is a good investment also.
Thats no fun if you cant have traction. I still dont see the point of this WG other than the claim of a dyno queen. No traction=slower car.
You've got to feel it to believe it. Actually, that's where DAB2 comes in...limitting boost in 1st and 2nd for better traction. Of course, I'm talking about S3R+Toys here...oh yeah, and a willingingness to even consider anything other than DAB3 Seriously though, I think AGP did an excellent job in choosing a stiffer spring that allows more boost to be held a bit longer, but isn't too stiff to cause huge part throttle over boost problems (assuming PCM control is retained) nor other problems like detonation (ping) from running too much boost on California 91-octane. Yeah probably another week or so.
I'm almost at the 4 month mark waiting for my Stage 3 setup from F&F. So if you get yours back in a week or so something is highly messed up. You just recently sent yours over to Bob right ? I know he does awesome work, but man, 4 months is around 12 weeks longer than he originally told me it would take.

I installed a wideband at the same time as the wastegate and my scangauge is on order right now. I thought at first though that it lost power from the install but realized the tires were just spinning. It pulls like hell in fourth though and should be ok with slicks on it.

I do have toys but doesnt the PCM pull timing for higher boost levels? I still havent installed Stage 3 yet. (Dont get me started with the long ass wait from Form and Function)
What does Stage 3 boost at out of the box? What are you boosting with the AGP and how does DAB affect it?

I should get comission on those things. I have talked about them until I was blue in the face, shit I cant count the number of times I told Mole's ass to pick one up.
THey are great and really enhance S3's powerband. That keeping the car in your own lane shit is crazy huh?? I did a few highway pulls with Mole on the left and a Cobra on the right and it was scary there for a minute and that was highway speeds.
Something to be said about going down the hgihway and going WOT and having the tires break loose or the car torque steer like you got a bull in a head lock.
Wider tires will help with the spinning, them tiny ass stock bicycle wheels arent made for that much power, throw a fat rim (8") on there with some 245's......
