Need help picking an exhaust...

Hey everyone I picked up my SRT about a month ago so far I've gotten an AEM SRI and that's it. Im really looking into getting an exhaust but Im not sure which one, Ive been leading towards MPX side exit with a catted DP. I live in NJ and cops here give people tickets left and right for a loud exhaust I want something loud but not obnoxious to where Im getting a ticket all the time. I looked at the Thermal R&D and I think its to quiet for my liking so any help on what I should get would be appreciated. Thanks guys!

Either of those are good exhausts. MPx side exhaust is a nice setup but might be louder than what you want. Thermal is definately the way to go if you want a quiet exhaust. A guy local to me has a thermal exhaust and you can barely hear it when you don't want to but still sounds good when you get on it.

one of the questions I had on the Thermal was, is it the same power gains compared to an MPX and I like the Thermal but I cant see this car not having that throaty sound with the pops it just wouldnt be the same in my opinion.

any 3 inch exhaust will have the same effects as long as its 3 inch the whole way through. You could also look into a needswing downpipe with e-cutout. Open it up and its loud when you want it and has the effect of a 3 inch exhaust. Close it when you want it to be quiet.

The MPx side exit exhaust is a good setup. I am pretty sure Tunerlover3 still has the side exit so maybe he can give you an idea on how loud it is. Performance wise its as good as any other 3 inch as far as i know. I still would recommend the needswing because of how cheap it is compared to a full 3 in exhaust. That is what I would have went with if I didnt buy my car with a 3 in exhaust already on it. Not dissing the side exit though I have only heard good things about it and if thats what you would rather have than by all means go for it.

^^^this. Best of both worlds. The way I have it now...but I'm looking into getting a full three inch anyway because I hate the stock piping. So damn skinny...LOL

If you have issues with cops, a side exit is the last thing you want.Even with a catted DP the MPX side exit is still loud.

Now you could try adding another resonator or delete the one that comes with it and install and quieter one if you really wanna go with the side exit.

A good option for people that have law issues is the Needswings downpipe with a electronic cut out. Open it when you want, close it to be near quiet like stock.

FYI I dont have a side exit anymore. I switched to a single muffler setup.

dont get side exit in NJ I got multiple tickets for safty violation for the side exit and failed inspection for it. if you do get side exit keep your stock exhaust just incase you need to stop by local court.

Seen two cops with my mpx dual catless exhaust.. Rode right by me

On the exhaust note, it is kinda loud above 3k but it sounds great shifting at about 4k.. Backfire pops and crackles .. I love it
