Wink My new Perrin TBE ... for those who care. 56K ... No way.

I just installed a Maxxfab O2 housing bolted up to a Perrin turboback exhaust last weekend. I am posting up some pics for those that care.

Fire away with any questions if you have them.

Are you happy overall with it, design, fit, sount etc? I have been thinking about perrin cat-back + Maxxfab 0/2 and Downpipe for awhile now.

Most of the fit is pretty good. The only thing is that the passenger side tip sticks out a little past the driver's side (maybe 3/4") There is really no front to back adjustment to it since it is a totally flanged system.

Overall I am very happy with it. The sound is great and the performance is noticible. The mirror polish on it is incredible. We will see what happens at inspection time, since it doesn't have a cat.

Overall I would defintely give it a

JSC speed has a sound clip on their site for this exhaust. I just don't have a way to record one. sorry.

Sounds JUST like the Magnaflow setup...

I have that one now, but its too low key for me. I just ordered the Billy boat turboback without cat...that thing should be screaaaming.

Nice exhaust though.

I seriously thought about the B & B until I saw this:

Basically they cut the two 2.5 inch pipes in half, then weld them together, then stick that end into a 3 inch collector and weld the the assy. As you look into the collector from the 3 inch side, you can see the 2 pipes that were welded together, with about a 1/8 inch gap (some places more) all the way around between the 2.5 inch pipes outer circumfrance, and the inner circumfrance of the 3 inch collector. If you do the math, you end up with something a lot less than a 3 inch exhaust path. Here's a pic:

The measurements I took were about 2 5/8 inch at the widest point. Not to menation that gap around the pipe is going to cause some flow issues.

Personally, I used to think these were the best dual tip exhaust system for the SRT, and would reccomend them. That was going off of what other people have said....my mistake. After seeing one in person, they will not be reccomended any more. If this were a $600-$700 exhaust, I could maybe see this kind of construction, but not for $900, and not from a major producer of high quality exhaust systems. Do you think the guys with the Vipers would put up with this????

Take this info for what you will. I know the guys with the B&B's love them. That's cool. I just wanted to pass on this info. I have nothing to gain from this, as MAXX Fab does not sell a comperable product to the B&B dual tip.

Yea but thats jsut 1 guy trying to justify reasons not to buy the system. The system is quality, VERY quality, and has numbers to back it up, no matter what anyone says about picture...

B and B is known for their excellent systems.

It looks bad ass!! I am going to pick one up at the end of the month I'll post some pics once I have it installed on the car. How does it sound on the highway? Is it quieter then stock?

Thanks Dude! Honestly, it doesn't drone as much but it does have a resonance at certain RPM bands. I think it is actually a bit louder than stock because it doesn't have a cat on it. It sounds much deeper than stock though, I really like the sound.
