I put in my oil mod today and tooks some pics while i was at it. Took the coil and wires off. Disconnected the pcv line. Then took off the valve cover (Nine 8mm bolts). Took off the cam sensor (Two 10mm bolts).
Got the cam cap off (one 8mm and two 10mm bolts). Tapped it gently with a screw driver handle to get it loose.
Installed the oil modifier.
Cleaned up the valve cover and gasket of old silicon.
Cleaned the head of old silicon and torqued the cam cap.
Put new silicon on where Aaron from RealTune said to put some and in the corners where the old silicon was. Put the valve cover and cam sensor back on.
Done! Just put the coil and wires back on and the pcv line.
I let it sit for an hour and a half while i rerouted some lines and removed the red line, capped where it was. Started the car and let it idle for about 10-15 minutes, no leaks. Drove around for a while, no leaks. Did a few runs, no leaks. Mid-high end there was noticeable gains. Best mod ive done under $100.
very good...im planning on doing this mod in the next couple of days....so you reused the old gasket and just put RTV over it or permatex whatever you wanna call it...i noticed where you pointed out to put some sealant (arron neon said) mine is leaking their too...how long did it take to drop in?

The purpose of ignition advance is to account for the lag time following spark ignition for combustion pressure to peak at 15 degrees AFTER TOP DEAD CENTER. A little fyi !

I took my time, bumping to some music. Took me about 25-30 minutes and then waited an hour and a half for the silicon to dry alittle. Had ZERO leaks after a few runs so it should hold. Yeah, i reused the gasket. It was still in good conditon. Just make sure you get the old silicon off.
Installing this tomarrow.
Check valve is on the way in the mail.
Make sure to remove that filter in the middle. Even on it says not to be used with synthetic oils.
Yeah, its not needed since you won't be reusing that oil (we hope ). BTW, that's the exact same separator I used for my $20 CC, works great.
Trying to determine exactly what the DCR oil modifier is exactly? Sorry, call me stupid, but I somehow didn't catch it.... Sounds pretty sweet, though!

May I ask what kind of oil you are using? It looks to me as if your spark plug seals are leaking, gaskets don't look torn so I'd recommend putting RTV on the seals there to.

Yeah i did notice that their leaking. I wasnt sure if i should use the red rvt i had. Ill probably take the valve cover off real quick tomarrow and take a closer look at the seals. As for the oil, i just got the car a moth and a half ago and the dealer said the oil had been changed when they got the a month before. I checked the oil and it looked to be regular non-synthetic oil. Ill be changing it this weekend with mobil one.
