Default Hahn 20g Spring $20 Upgrade

$20 Stock WGA Spring Upgrade

Just like the thread above, I have just taken apart the wga that came with the hahn kit. I used the ptp spring I had in my stock wga. The hahn wga was so easy to take apart, I just used a flat head and pried it apart (I did it @ work took about 5min to do). Comparing the Hahn spring to the stock wga (stock stock spring), its spring maybe 1'' to 1/2'' smaller but they feel the same. The ptp spring compared to the hahn is about 2'' smaller but PTP spring is way harder. PTP FTW

I was the guy that posted pic's in the thread above. Just follow that but just use the ptp spring rather than 2 like I did. I will post results once I get away from work.

This should work for you guys that want to hit over 25psi. Like I said I will post results. My goal is to have a really low boost and have a nice hi boost. But I have to preload the wga so much so it doesnt drop 25lbs @ redline. When I do that I am raising the low boost, since the low boost runs off the wga. Yes I do have a ebc.

Thumbs up Great News

Results

Old Spring

Set the Wga to between 19ish-22ish (weather pending) just to hold 25 @ redline with the ebc. Set it anything lower I would hold about 23ish.

New Spring

Set the wga to 15-16 and that baby held 25 psi all day. I think my ebc is maxed out thought. I have the first gen profec b. But I love the results. Since I have the steering remote switch, I have a low boost for first and second.

I am going to use a wire wheel to get all the knicks out from putting it back together, then paint it with black high temp cermanic paint

I have the second gen profec and I could pop the 20G with it...I'm thinking that the new spring is still to weak and possibly you get a spike and it holds as long as it can before being smashed down again...Go with your plan for an external WG!!!!

naw this spring is far from weak LOL(i cant push this bitch down with my fingers) I havnt preloaded/turned the wga up yet

but I may have clearance issues with the external/manifold with the new o2 housing. I just may still try it.

Did some pulls last night from a dig low boost:

1st: spin like stock in first 13-15 psi
2nd: broke a small bit of traction 14-15 psi
3rd: high boost yeeeee haawwwww 25psi

going to track in march will see if this improves my 60ft and 330 ft on street tires I know it will.

The reason why first and second are like its due to the really rich mixture. The wideband reads really low 9's in first and second. not to mention I am spraying a m10 nozzle with 100%.

Overall I am very happpy may get 2.0 cams/gears instead of the external we will see.

Great idea, now lets see what happens at the track. Great job again on being an innovator of good ideas.
