Default Compression test results

Hey guys so I decided to do the test today since my car has never had the amount of power it is supposed to with the mods on it. so I tested and got 155 157 155 156 all in that range when I added oil I got like 170 170 190 195. does this sound about right?

that's a pretty big gain from oil. how much oil did you add? too much can net you false results due to more volume taken up. I have never done a test on mine, but from other cars, that seems to be a bit high, unless your rings are starting to wear. Maybe someone else will chime in who has more experience with compression testing the srt.

just my .02

Well the first one without oil is lookin fine.. it 1 to off from each other is nothing to be worried about. I think you might have gotten some false reading when you applied oil.

Your engine is fine, main thing is to warm it up as stated and hold the throttle open while cranking.

As long as its over a hundred your fine. But i would start to watch it if it gets lower then 120. Dont worry about the higher numbers when you added oil. Everyones would produce a little more compression if they added oil. The only time you would add oil is if you have a cylinder that was abnormally lower then the rest to see if its the rings or not.

When i did mine awhile ago, all were right around 175.

to bring up an old thread, i just did mine 2 weeks ago... i will have to say i was getting scared., i did mine with engine at about 50*F, cold outside, sat for 5 hrs in 40*F only ran for 10 seconds to pull it in shop, pulled out all 4 plugs, did not disconect fuel (changed oil directly after) i got 144-143-144-145 1,2,3,4 when i read people getting 170+ i about shit... but shop book said above 140. and i think a hotter eng nets higher. (even a summer day's heat) ive got just the mods listed and ran a strong 13.4 1/4 on street tires. so im thinking that im ok..
