Hey guys i am new to this forum and i am having problems with my clutch slipping. i recently bought my first SRT it is a 2004 neon SRT-4 the previous owner said he had it on the dyno and it was producing 391whp so i decided to see if it was actually making that kind of power so i took it to the dyno in my city and found it only made 308whp but noticed the clutch was slipping a lot, so my question is what kind of clutch would you recommend i do drive this car a lot on the street and will be taking it to the drag strip and possibly to a closed circuit race track i also plan on upgrading to make more power in the future. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Matt |

We need to know mods.
If they care is decently built, get a ACT 6 puck with the HD pressure plate. Good clutch for street driving and holds very well.

Yep. It sucks for a daily. The XT plate makes it SUPER grabby.

That's what I figured. Is the pedal just extremely stiff? Or does it let go really quick? It wouldn't be for a dd more like a weekend car.

Just saying, but why get a modified stock clutch? Get a clutch that is proven like something from ACT. what about a southbend? I had one on my 600hp stealth and it was awesome even after all the hole shots at the track. Had that clutch for 2 years then sold the car.
There was a lot of issues (and still is) with southbend clutches. My friends stage 3 was fucked up and south bend kept saying it was okay.

If it just goes to the track, sure. If you drive it on the street at all, forget it. Some people will say they are fine driving it on the street, but I sure as hell wouldnt lol Also hard on the stock input shaft.
