well i have a custom gt35r kit on i made 414 whp on 93 oct at 23 lbs. and 457 whp at 26 lbs on c16 (didnt keep going since im stock internal). i have full boost at 3,900 rpm all the way to 6.2k. i would say that gt35r is better than 50 trim since you get more hp for less boost that means less break ups plus you go all the way since most ppl that i have seen change from 50 trim to gt35r since they are not getting enough whp so its more $$$ spent

Why is it that so many people complain of stumbles and hesitation with the big turbos and then there are just as many saying it drives better than stock? Is it some are making install mistakes or wiring issues? I ran a piggyback system on my 04 tiburon with big injectors and a blower with no issues with drivability . I have stage3 on order for 7 weeks now and was told they can't get the turbos for maybe 2 months. I don't want to wait but I don't want any stumbles either. I'm on the fence about switching the order to agp 50 trim kit please help push me one way or the other. I have full mods including stage1 agp front mount, jmb ultimate intake, lorenzo tb, jmb upp w/greddy type s, motor mounts , 10 mm wires and iridium plugs.Opinions welcome.

Default DBB .50 trim is all a guy on the street needs

All you need, if you want a really fast street SRT-4, is a ball bearing .50 trim, supporting mods (good clutch, too), and a good tune done by people who know what the frick they are doing. You'll smoke lots of fast cars and have fun doing it! Get a frickin' wideband, too! I'm going with the turbo xs tuner box. I changed my mind and am not going with the AEM.

My .50 trim is coming next week! Woo hoo! Finally!!

If you do the following - GT3071R or 50 trim DBB turbo, S2 ECU, S2 MAP, S2 TIP, S2 Injectors, Return fuel kit, Walbro Fuel Pump, and LIMIT max boost to around 18-19 psi (MBC) - Install a check valve on the fuel pressure regulators pressure reference port (so that it doesn't see vacuum), set it at 58 psi base fuel pressure) then you won't have any hesitation and other drivability problems at all with the BFT.

A local car i'm working on is running the above setup (well, just waiting for the return fuel kit to get in, but everything else is there) - and there's no problems at all in regards to startup, and closed loop operation, and no hesitation. Drive's like stock and there's no partial throttle full boost problems.

This works because under closed loop operation, the ECU is controlling the injectors it was tuned for, moreover - it's running at the fuel pressure the ECU was intended to control. The 1:1 only kicks in while under boost where it's needed and the computer kicks into open loop mode (big turbo, same psi, more airflow, hence more fuel required).

As soon as you go big injectors w/ any of the of the ECU's (S1, S2) then flop in a piggy back then you'll be asking for tuning and other problems.

Yes, the above setup will limit your power output to mid 350's or so, but then again - most of us use our cars as a daily driver, not as a drag race - dyno queen.

As for the bottle neck mod (spoolboy), I personally believe it's a bunch of BS - at least under closed loop/cruising. The setup above does not have said mod and it doesn't have any hesitation - the key is to work with the ECU, and not funk with it.

i got a gt40, im only running 7 psi and all i can say is that turbo wants to fly im waiting until i can get my hands on a ebc then i will throw it on a dyno and get it up to 20 psi .....as far as issues go none that i can speak of other than making sure i have a full tank of gas im having some problems with fuel im getting about 240 KM to a tank once i get tuned im sure it will work out.

There are always issues because we are not ALWAYS totally happy with how our cars run. We always want to tweak with this or that and see how it changes the performance.

I'm strongly considering the AGP 3147. They just got it back in stock. I have s2 right now. My mainga goal is to get to the low to mid 300whp mark. But i don't wanna buy this turbo now and then wish i would have bought the 50trim a few months down the line. Any opinios would be nice on this topic. My basic goal for the car is to have a fun street car that can do high to mid 12's at the track on Drag radials.
