Maybe it's just me. Maybe 50_Trim_Install > me.

I'm sure it has more to do with the fact that I didn't get my 50 trim from AGP.

No one said that their 50 trim wouldn't fit to the stock charge pipe w/o modification of the charge pipe. No one said that the coolant overflow bottle now rest on the wastegate. Cause I didn't get mine from AGP, it already had a wastegate re-route... so I was good-to-go there. How about ARP exhaust studs being too long for the manifold... no one said that. And the fact that it's smart to get a BOV in addition to the 50 trim kit cause there is nothing within the kit to prevent your turbo from surging.

But... once you get past all of that like I did... wheew... Have a great time replacing your tires, changing your oil every 2K miles, going to a stronger clutch, and removing those balancing shafts so you have no other problems with all the fun you're having. Fun times.

Lets switch gears over to the main charge pipe that runs from the turbo outlet under the engine to the intercooler. In order for it to fit, your going to have to modify it where it connects to the turbo.

As far as upgrading the clutch, tires, etc those are all pretty much common sense when it comes to adding a significant amount of torque to a stock car.

Not flaming, just letting you know that the information is out there

Naw man... I didn't take it as a flame. What I mean is that this is a thread about big turbos... lots of 50 trims installed in here. Original poster asked for the good and the bad. No one mentioned those things here. Yeah, this information can be found at other places as well. But if I were new to 50 trims, saw what the OG poster asked; I would have read all of this and took the experiance of... what... 50+ people with the same install I want and would have assumed that I would not have ran into any of the problems I listed above. Out of all the people who posted here about their 50 trims; I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't get it from AGP. And I'm sure I'm not the only one here on this thread that ran into these problems. I'm just trying to give the next guy a little foresight. He should still go threw the install... by all means... But I'd like to make him(or her) more aware of what their getting into then... "yeah, I installed mine in one weekend and have been roasting my tires all week."

Yes. I believe that's the AGP kit based on the turbonetics wastegate. Ask the AGP guys to be certain. I also have the AGP heat shield, and I could have gotten the "bling" option on my compressor as well. So dont be lead to believe that just because it's a .50 trim, and has the AGP heat shield, that the kit came from them. Another way to tell it's the AGP kit(or one built sim to AGP's kit) is the oil feed line and fitting. AGP includes a 90 degree fitting, and their oil line looks different than the kit I have. In my kit, it was a straight threw fitting, and it wont work with that unless I damn near put a kink in the oil line itself. A shot of the O2 pipe will help as well... but that can be ordered from AGP as well.

There is no sure-fire way to tell if it's an AGP kit w/o seeing a receipt. You can tell it's close if ALL the parts are what AGP includes in it's kit...

It's O2 housing, compressor with welded outlet to match stock location, better bolts/hardware, turbonetics wg, dump tube, heat shield, 90 degree oil fitting, etc... Those things would be clues to me that it's an AGP kit.

Not that it matters all too much as long as it's installed correctly.

The thing I had to get used to with a big turbo is when you stand on the peddal, the power isn't instant like the stocker.

1st time I stood on my big turbo... I had time to look around the cab... like "wtf", then 1/2 a second later I had to grab the wheel rather quickly......

hey guys, just wondering if any of you guys ever had this happen to you before, ok , i have a AGP 50trim kit the whole stage 4 kit! for my fuel computer i have a NEO and for my boost controller i have a Greddy pro fec B. I have a stock pcm, the car has been tuned! and i had this problem before the tune. and it still going on. Alright at like 2000 and sometimes 3000rpms the car will hit a fuel cut then you have to put the pedal all the way to the floor to get it to stop doing its gay lil lean out deal. then its fine. when you boost and get into it hard there are no problems at all! just when im driving normal. any info? cause im lost ! the dealership dosent know! my tuner was like , give me more money and ill try messen with it! lol any help would be great! thank you!
